Summary: Soubi awakens on the beach, without Ritsuka. Worried, he starts to look for him.

Shinji had been on the beach since early morning, leaning against a palm tree. Over his head phones he had heard someone call out. Switching off his SDAT player and putting it in his pocket, he stood from his spot. After dusting off the sand, the boy headed towards the other figure. "Hello?"

Soubi stopped, pale violet eyes fixing on the dark-haired boy. He looked him over in silence, noting the lack of ears and tail. A smirk touched his lips. "Have you seen a boy with dark hair like yourself, but still innocent?" Although his voice was soft, there was an almost acidic undertone; velvet over cold steel.

Blinking, Shinji considered just what that 'innocent' comment was about. Shaking it off, the boy non-chalantly shrugged. "I haven't seen anyone but you since this morning. There's a village over there, just haven't gone myself." He pointed to where all the buildings were, although now darkened by the faded light.

The Fighter glanced toward the village as it was pointed out. He frowned slightly. "You've been here all day, yet have seen no one else?" A sudden thought occurred to him and he pulled his cell phone from one of jean pockets. Flipping it open, he looked at the screen. No signal. Closing it, he looked back at the dark-haired boy. "What is this place?"
