but people like you and Dan who write so eloquently, be it fact, fiction, or something inbetween. we never get bored with your posts. and such an array of topics, always something of interest for most anyone.
To be honest, I don't know if gay people get more offended by that or not. If they do, it's probably because many are seeking affirmation and validation in any way they can in a society that often won't let them have it.
I don't generally think about these things. Sometimes, people have their fill of me, and that's that. My fortunes don't rise or fall based on whether someone defriends me on Livejournal.
I don't think it's a phenomenon exclusive to gay men, however. People live vicariously through others via LJ, and for some people, it's genuinely painful to see people defriend them, depending on how wrapped up they get.
"Is it just me or do gay people seem to get pissed off easier when it comes to such things??"
I would say thats a yes, in general. I find the visible majority of gay folk are quick to jump to conclusions about the meaning of the things that are not said, as much as things that are said. Thin skinned? Always ready to defend themselves against an ever-present (perceived) enemy? Actively looking for things in their environment to perpetuate their history of emotional damage? Probably all of the above, at times. Mind you, this is just a fraction of gay people, albeit a very visible and vocal group. Just my impression over the years, of course, based on having witnessed a number of people acting these things out publicly.

God knows I went thru that stage. Thank God it's over and I've moved on. But that was moreso with a particular individual!@!
