Having been let go from nursing home data entry forever, I am now looking at the following opportunities:

- Diving into the gig economy: I am waitlisted with Instacart and Amazon Flex, and have set up a food delivery account with Uber Eats. I've also got Papa Pals fully set up. Papa Pals pays about $17/hour, which is $5 more than what I was making ( Read more... )

Good luck with it all. You do sound as if you have got the alternatives well worked out.

I feel for you not having proper health care. I really don't understand how the US, which is supposed to be a proper, grown-up, first world, country has still not figured out universal health care... my millennial and her husband never have to worry about health care at all.

What a dream that must be, to just go to the doctor when you are sick. Something I can never do unless it's an emergency. And even then, the terror of getting the bill afterward. If I could go back in time I'd tell myself to drop everything and focus on getting a dual citizenship.

Happy Anniversary! And good luck with the job hunt. You do have a wonderful thing - a Firefly Petunia! I'd never heard of such a thing before!

Thanks. I did find a job-of-sorts...will mention it in my next too-long post haha.

The firefly petunia is wonderful. Jameson must think I'm crazy because every night before bed I pick it up and bring it to my nightstand. But it is just so beautiful. It glows all night long, and has only gotten brighter as it gets healthier. And different parts of it glow on different days, depending on (I assume) how much sun it got or which parts of the plant are receiving the most energy. In addition to being incredible to look at it's also amazing to contemplate the science that allows it to exist.
