Your clarinetist, so generous, and also provided hot water and a French press! What a guy!
I'm amused when you say band box, because in Victorian times, a bandbox was a round cardboard box for a hat. I guess it had a band around it to keep it closed for travel? They had some very delicate hats.
He really is! Everyone was raving about what a great guy he was before he joined us (he was working a cruise ship in Spain and finishing that contract, which is why we had the borderline-senile older woman as a sub during rehearsals.) Apparently he knows at least two languages, and can cut hair and sew, in addition to being an amazing human and a musician. Honestly, as a tense and anxious person, his presence calms me greatly (he is next to me in the pit.) I think it's because whatever it is that I'm worried or afraid about, he is the type of person who would understand and be gracious and kind about it, instead of curling his nose in disgust or looking away instead of helping.
Truth! Addison is one of the most polite dogs I've met. She has great manners :) Brian is a feathered turd to most people so I don't take it personally :P

Incidentally, there are a ZILLION hat boxes ("bandboxes") on this show lol. Mostly for the Ascott race scene: https://matineeradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/My-Fair-Lady.jpg
