Via coffeeem, minnehaha is running a poll on 'decidedness' with respect to the US elections. Personally, I checked that I'm decided. I am absolutely, 100% certain that I will not vote for McCain/Palin. I haven't entirely talked myself into the idea that I'll be voting for Obama/Biden. I too think that the Obama/Biden ticket is insufficiently progressive, but in this state it's only those two options or abstaining (no write-ins). Granted it is virtually certain that McCain/Palin will win in this state so my vote isn't going to matter anyhow, but I am going to vote Obama/Biden anyway. I'd rather vote against than not vote at all.

In your shoes, I'd probably do the same. I think my state is pretty damn likely to vote for Obama/Biden, and McKinney will be on the ballot here, so it's tempting to try to convince the local Democrats that they really can move far enough right to lose my vote, but...

Can you do the traditional thing and write-in Cthulhu? The old "why vote for the lesser of evils" theory.

I could. My traditional write-ins when I don't like my choices are Rose Bush, Norway Maple, Douglas Fir, and Mickey Mouse.
