For Jenna, things had recently been pretty normal as far as Taxon goes. Gain people, lose double. Lose one, gain none. She was starting to learn the ins and outs of the city and hated what she'd come to notice ( Read more... )

"Careful, love," Fizt said, frowning at the tablet. It was as much a warning to be cautious cleaning up the glass as it was letting her know the tablet was on.

"Should I bring a replacement 'round for you?"

Oh damnit. Jenna huffed out a breath of frustration, her head popping up above the counter for a moment. "Sure, if you want to deal with broken glass." That'd be a yes, Fitz. She could use the company, even as grouchy as she was. "That seems to be the only thing here."

"Want might be too strong a word, but I'll put on a brave face for you."

And because we all love timeskips, in short order Fitz arrived at Jenna's door with a bottle of cabernet nicked from the bar. "Jenna? S'me, your personal St. Bernard."

At least she'd cleaned up most of the glass by the time he got there. Jenna opened the door, eyebrows shooting up at the bottle. "Got out the big stuff this time, huh?" She managed a smile as she stepped back to let him in. It was time to avoid what she'd seen, or thought she saw. Right now she didn't want to deal with it.

Jenna? [ Oh, this was not good. Helen had first met her when Elena had left before and now either something had happened or she'd left ]

Would you like some company? [ It was the least that she could do ]

[ she paused for a moment. well... company would be nice. the crown of her forehead appears over the counter... and then her eyes. ]

Depends on how much you feel up to dealing with. There's a lot of glass here. [ she may or may not have dropped a second bottle by now. ]

Although DG was currently caught up in her own grief, she wasn't blind and she picked up her tablet to see what had happened when she caught sight of Jenna's broadcast. She didn't know her well, not yet, but she had to respond. She had to try and help.

“Jenna? What happened?”

By this point, at least, the glass had been cleaned up. Jenna had taken to the floor, though, preferring that to actually being seen on the tablets.

"I thought I saw something. It startled me and I dropped my glass."

Which was definitely the roundabout answer. It was true... but not the whole truth.

"Do you want to talk about the something?"

DG didn't think that Jenna was lying, but she did think that she was only telling half of the story. Which was fine. That was her choice. DG just wanted to make it clear that she was there to listen and to help if her assistance was needed.

Jenna hesitated. It wasn't that she didn't want to tell anyone about it, she just didn't want to face what she thought she'd seen. "My niece... and something else. It was like a reflection, but I don't know how it could have been. She's not even here anymore."
