Flat and mushy. Apt adjectives for so many things, right now.

"I'd like to help, but I'm really not the girl to ask," Max says, wincing at her sympathetically. "I've never baked a day in my life."

She tilts her head, attempting to get a better view of the cookies. "They don't look that bad, though."

Max raises an eyebrow at the baking attempt - okay, so those do look a little less than appetizing. Still, better than anything she could do.

"It can't be that bad - just sugar and chocolate and flour, right?" she says, looking back up at Buffy.

It's a mess that Willow's been feeling deep inside her ever since their fight during her glitch. The redhead's on her way to find something to munch on when she steps into the kitchen.

The urge to turn right around and flee the scene is shoved harshly down. It's been almost two months. This is something she has to face up to.

"Uh... it depends on what you're making."

Willow hovers by the door, mentally preparing herself for anything that might happen.
