[The voice is familiar enough and Lexi's ears are sharp enough to pick up Dawn's words from both the tablet and inside the house. A little disconcerting, but Lexi doesn't even break a sweat over it.]

Yeah, but usually people call then person who owns the front porch they're squatting on and maybe ask if they can come inside.

[ elena happens to be coming back to the castle after her conversation with katherine at the cafe. she's not in the greatest of moods and it doesn't look like lexi's doing any better, judging by the way she's chainsmoking in a way that kind of frightens her, or would if she knew the tobacco didn't harm her.

she deliberately makes her steps a little louder as she approaches, though she knows lexi will hear her anyway, and when she reaches the blonde she gives her a nod - no smile, she doesn't feel like faking one. ]

[Turning up the drama a little by patting her chest with her hand, Lexi wonders how many more times she has to pretend that she's just normal. There never has been shame in being a vampire for her, even though she didn't go around announcing it from the rooftop for the last three centuries.
