Spike is currently the recipient of a Buffy Original 'What is up with your weird behavior' look. She's very carefully not commenting on the subject of 'that woman' however, as she probably doesn't want to know, and it's not her place to ask.

Okay, she's been doing well with the whole patience and consideration thing so far, but this is just ridiculous.
"Guardians? What?" She protests, indignantly. "I don't have guardians! Nobody guards me-- and for the record, corsets practically strangle people, and personally I think that's way more inappropriate than a little stonewash denim."
Mini-rant out of her system, she sighs. "I'm sorry. I know this must be difficult for you. And confusing. But pretty much all the women here are going to be dressed like this, so you'd better get used to it. Unless you're planning on conversing with the floor the whole time." This last part is said in a fairly dry tone.

William blinks and looks up at the outburst. "Forgive me, I was out of line. I should know better than to insult a woman's outfit, no matter how shocking-- all the women dress like this here? Really?" He shakes his head and looks down.
"This place, wherever it is, it's nothing like my home. And I really must get back. My mother... she's not well, I need to take care of her." Though at this point, he wonders if his mother would even recognize him like this. He should have known that insane woman was bad news. He doubted he'd be here if not for her.

"Really," she confirms, with a contrite nod. She doesn't bother adding that she's dressed fairly chastely, and god help him if he ever bumps into Faith.
"No, no, it's no big," she waves his apology away, before realizing that the phrase probably means nothing to him. "It's not your fault," she amends, quickly. Something about how apologetic William is, how vulnerable and lost, how worried he is for his mother, really touches her, and she takes a couple of steps closer to him. It then occurs to her that getting too close would be against the crazy Victorian ideas of propriety, so she stops, feeling amazingly awkward.
"Listen, William, I know this is going to be hard for you to hear, and it's probably going to sound more than a little crazy, but we've been kidnapped. This place we're in, this city? It's a prison. This castle is my home, and I know you. We're..." Complicated. "...friends. You don't remember me because you have a kind of... amnesia."
[ location: castle summers ]breakmychestJune 11 2010, 19:20:19 UTC
William is quiet for a moment as he tries to process this.
"...I think I need to sit down," he says, collapsing on the couch. "I don't-- I mean, I know I forget everything after I met that woman last night, but how long could it have been?" Over a century, but who's counting? "Why would anyone kidnap me? I'm just a simple poet. Hardly important."
[ location: castle summers ]likeajoanJune 11 2010, 19:30:28 UTC
Buffy takes a seat on the couch too, though at a safe and reasonable distance, so as not to alarm him.
"You're a lot more than that," she replies, answering the last part first. "But none of us know why we're here, or who's responsible for this." She's avoiding telling him how long it's been, at least for the time being. Something else William said also attracted her attention, however. "What woman did you meet last night?"
[ location: castle summers ]breakmychestJune 11 2010, 22:47:18 UTC
William shakes his head. "I didn't catch her name. She was beautiful, though. Hair the color of a raven's wing, blue eyes... something mysterious about her, too, like she knew me even though we'd never met."
He looks away wistfully for a moment, thinking about the woman and wondering what happened afterward. Then he clears his throat and shakes his head. "A bit daft, though. Well, more than a bit. I wasn't sure what she was talking about for most of our conversation."
[ location: castle summers ]likeajoanJune 11 2010, 22:59:52 UTC
"Drusilla." Buffy concludes tartly, rolling her eyes at the florid description and William's evident enthusiasm. What's that, some jealousy? Of course not.
"This is important. The woman, Drusilla? She's insane and dangerous and she's here in the city, so if she... tries to contact you, just be careful, okay? She's not what she seems."
[ location: castle summers ]breakmychestJune 12 2010, 03:24:41 UTC
"Is that her name? She didn't tell me. I've only met her the one time, but she's like no one else I've ever seen." He sighs a bit, looking off into the distance. Then he looks down again, and over at Buffy. "I realize there's... something very wrong with her, and I know there's more to her than meets the eye, but I can't..." he trails off, and clears his throat.
"Anyway, you don't need to warn me about her, it was all too clear in how she acted."
[ location: castle summers ]likeajoanJune 12 2010, 21:37:59 UTC
William's obvious lingering fascination with Drusilla spurs her into being a bit more blunt - she can't watch him 24 hours a day, and she has no idea how long this glitch is going to last.
"No, I do need to warn you," she answers, emphatically. "She's a vampire. She could kill you without blinking, and yours is a neck I'm pretty sure she's fond of." Of course Dru still has her chip in place, so she might not necessarily be capable of too much damage, but recent events (kidnapping and torture!) have made Buffy much more wary.

"She's a vampire? That's ridiculous." William says, scoffing. Though she had seemed pretty interested in his neck. "I'm certain there's a perfectly logical explanation."
[ location: castle summers ]likeajoanJune 13 2010, 23:24:23 UTC
"Make things up?" Buffy protests, the pitch of her voice rising to match her indignance. "Spi--" She starts off, before quickly correcting herself. "William, why would I make something like that up? What could I possibly get out of lying to you?"
She's trying to appeal to his logic. Which... might not be the best idea, considering it's not something William/Spike is known for.
[ location: castle summers ]breakmychestJune 14 2010, 01:47:18 UTC
"How should I know? I've only just met you!" William asks, sounding frustrated. "Look, perhaps you're not making it up. Maybe you really do think she's a vampire, but it's... they don't exist. And I certainly would have noticed."
[ location: castle summers ]likeajoanJune 15 2010, 00:29:40 UTC
"I-- you--" This sentence ends with an inarticulate 'argh' sound, and Buffy getting up off the couch with equal frustration. "If none of what I'm saying is true, how do you explain all of this? How do you explain this place? Or the tablets? Or your hair?"
There is no adequate explanation for Spike's hair, surely people have tried.

The sarcasm probably isn't helpful, but Buffy can't help but feel somewhat frustrated.
