Morgana looks around her chambers, which are so blissfully neat and clean, for the first time since her arrival in Taxon, all she can do is smile. "Gwen, you have been more than enough help already."

Really, Morgana should have taken better care of things, but now she can fall back on the excuse that Gwen is just so much better at it.

"Do you have any plans for the rest of the day?"

Guinevere will not chastise her too much for the thin layer of dust and disorganized closet. Besides, she enjoys being of use.

"Nothing in particular. I wanted to get a little better acquainted with the city and perhaps send word to those who were kind enough to assist me upon my arrival." True, she still struggles with the Tablet, but could make use of the writing function to write her letters in a manner she's more familiar with.

"You shall have to send my gratitude," If Morgana were back home in Camelot, she would have talked Uther into sending some sort of thank you gift. He may have scoffed, but Morgana, in situations where she could convince the king he would look benevolent, knows exactly how she would have played things.

That type of thing is unnecessary here, as the hatches provide so much, so gratitude is all she can send.

"You may also wish to discover what it is that you brought to Taxon." Morgana's been putting it off, and, at the same time, selfishly hoping it is an object, not a place where Gwen would stay. She find she likes having her just down the hall.

"I'll be sure to mention it. I have made some progress with the tablet, though there is still a lot I need to figure out. Thankfully I got everyone's names."

She nods at that, rather curious herself that no random trinket from Camelot had made its way into her room in the middle of the night. Perhaps it is a place, as Morgana originally suggested. "I didn't own anything too grand unless it is my home. There is nearly no comparison to the palace, though."

"Did you have any plans for the day?"

And here's that other thread magicalskeptic May 12 2010, 20:37:41 UTC
Wherever she goes, Morgana cannot escape the Extras. They are watching her, with a focus she did not think possible. She cannot escape them in the streets, or even within the Royal Chambers.

And for some reason, she is beginning to ache.

Turning around, she realizes she's back in her own chamber and there is an Extra with her. This one is menacing, and looks familiar, but Extras are not permitted to be in her chamber.

The ache turns into pain.

Morgana awakens; she's fallen asleep on a divan in a small room off the main dining hall. There's a phantom memory of pain and an Extra is looking at her.

Cue screaming.

And there is screaming.

Arthur, who had been chilling quite tranquilly in his chambers, grabs the nearest sword available and dashes as fast as his legs are able into the dining hall, bursts into the room off of it, expecting to see some fierce and terrifying assailant and instead finds...

Morgana and an Extra who appears to be doing nothing out of the ordinary. Adrenaline pounding however, he nonetheless grabs the poor Extra by the scruff of its neck and demands of Morgana:

"Has this thing hurt you?"

That scream. She has heard that scream a million times before, more times than she would have liked to. So, without a second thought, she drops the sewing she was tending to and runs to the source of the screaming, following just a few steps behind Arthur in the hall.

She shakes her head some to herself as she sees Arthur grab the Extra. Yes, they had lived in the same household palace nearly all of their lives, were practically kin, yet he seems to know very little of just how the nightmares affected Morgana. She can't blame him, but slips past him and the complacent Extra none the less to go to Morgana on the divan.

Sitting at the divans edge, she gently places her hands on Morgana's should and speaks as soothingly and softly as she can manage. "Morgana, Morgana it is alright. It was only a dream."

"Get it out of here!" Morgana screams at Arthur. She doesn't just mean out of the room. She wants the Extra out of the Royal Chambers altogether. "It cannot be here."

Gwen's arrival is a relief. "Gwen," she's having difficulty controlling her breathing and she can't look at Arthur again until the Extra is out of sight. Her voice is pitiful. "Gwen, it hurt."

And now, the Pie. Tag when you have time. magicalskeptic May 16 2010, 14:14:54 UTC
With her concern about the Extras, Morgana's nearly forgotten about the discussion she had with Gwen on her friend's first afternoon in Taxon.

So, with a lack of any pressing duties, until the Guard is set up, Morgana tracks down Gwen. Feeling horrifically guilty every time she sees Gwen doing something previously done by the Extras (and she has to temper that guilt with her reasoning for the dismissal) Morgana hopes a distraction would be in order.

"I believe, at some point, you were going to teach me how to make a cherry pie."

Guinevere gave herself a very long list of reasons why she should never need to wander to Arthur's end of the Royal Chambers, but after discovering the Smithy she had a need to seek him out. Being in Taxon for only a short time, she couldn't presume to know what various activities he filled his days with, but she decided to start at his quarters.

When three knocks and calling his name resulted in nothing but a faint rustling noise (that poor closeted Extra, no doubt) and no answer, she decided to go to the next logical place. the dueling arena had been just as she remembered it, save the lack of spectators filling the rows of seats that surrounded it. It made her smile some as she scanned the area, a bit more concerned with the nostalgic feeling than with finding the prince for a moment.

"Arthur?"

Alerted by the sound of Gwen's voice, Arthur emerged from one of the side doors that lead to the room the knights use to prepare before duels. He was fairly resplendent in the full armour, sword sheathed however.

"Hello Gwen," he smiled in greeting, squinting slightly against the sun. "What brings you here?"

She turned quickly, snapping out of her little trance as she heard her name. She shouldn't have been surprised by him fully clad for battle; they are in the dueling arena after all.

"Ah, there you you," she said, smiling back faintly as she approached him. "I should have known you would be down here. I'm not sure if Morgana told you or not but the thing I brought with me from home was the Smithy. Not the royal smithy, but my father's smithy, as it was before- I mean, the last time that I was there..."

The conversation shouldn't have been this awkward for her, but she was having a hard time getting to her question. Rambling seemed the best option at the time.

The mention of Gwen's father made Arthur avert his gaze for a second. It hadn't been terribly long since his death for Arthur, of course. He still blamed himself in some measure - he should have done more to fight the King. Still, there was no point in dwelling on it.

"Really?" He shook his head, folding his arms. "No, she hasn't mentioned it." But then, he'd been keeping to himself a lot, in order to make sure that Extra was under wraps in his room. "That's good."

He looked at her expectantly, as if waiting for her to, well. Elaborate and/or get to the point. Not that her rambling wasn't nice.
