After this

[ooc: Obviously this is backdated to the night of the Doctor's release from jail. Feel free to run into her at any point in this action or hit up her up with the voice]She runs from the house, full tilt, breathless running because she can't watch him tell her goodbye. Not again. Not after everything she's done and how far she's come. ( Read more... )

The Doctor appears on the screen, still looking disheveled, if a little more tired, now. The high he got from being freed is wearing off, and he's starting back on the sick route he was in before.

"What are you up to, Rose?"

Rose doesn't look at the screen. She's busy looking at some sort of energy meter and scribbling notes. "Helping you fulfill your sentence, Doctor. The key has bits of the TARDIS. How do you think I found it in the first place? Parallel world? not the first time I saw Donna."

She's lying. She's lying through her teeth. The Doctor may or may not realize this.

"Planning on hopping us ahead six months?" the Doctor asks. He picks the key from his pocket, and looks down at the screen. He's been better, lately. He's noticed it, Morgana's noticed it. Maybe this is why. The TARDIS key he had before is gone, taken with his sonic and his other things.

He holds the key up for her to see.

"Right, then," he says. "Come and get it."

Infuriating man. Of course he can't just drop it in the mail slot the way a proper bloke would do after a break up scene like the one they just had.

"Something like that," she answers noncommittally. She sighs and finally looks up to the screen. There are a hundred sharp, cutting remarks she could give him. She bites her bottom lip and shakes her head.

"Why? So you can convince me you don't need--my help?" me was the word on the tip of her tongue.

You know, Cherry Pie. I'm not a taxi service.

Don't want you to take me anywhere. Not unless you can get out of this City. I just want to know what you can do and what doing that does to this place.

Uh huh. So I'm a guinea pig. Want a shovel to help you dig in deeper?

You're not a guinea pig. You're the only one powerful enough in this city to do what you do. You're an anomaly I need to study.

What do you want? Exchange. Fair's fair.

"I've a good deal of experience with all sorts of interesting things. What do you need?"

"How does it work in this place? How does it effect this place?"

"I'd wager that it works differently depending on how each person actually transports themselves. That's reasonable, don't you think? If someone steps through shadows it's probably different then if they tesseract."

"Yeah. That's reasonable. M'used to using alien technology but I'm quick learner. You got something that works better here, I'll learn it."

Yes she does sound a bit desperate and she actually looks at Hermes when she's talking about this now. She's earnest at least.

And you do have experience with teleportation of sorts?

[pause]

How's the Doctor?

He didn't tell you. I used UNIT, punched a hole in a parallel world, found the TARDIS in a world he died in to find him in a world he was alive in.

[She will not mention Donna. This is the Master and while Rose is willing to shove herself in front of that truck, she'll leave Donna out of it]

Then there was the whole Bad Wolf thing.

Got a bit.

[Now there's a pause on Rose's end. Obviously this is a very sore subject and she doesn't have the strength to hide it at the moment]

Alright I s'pose.

Impressive, but that's to be expected from the big Bad Wolf.

[he does sound impressed]

Has his memory worsened?

[Rose puts her fingertips to her forehead, rubbing at it before she speaks. She's trying to be careful. She's trying to make sure she handles this man that the Doctor doesn't trust. She's running on too little sleep, emotions that are too high and way too much desperation.]

I wasn't Bad Wolf when I did all of that.

[At least that's a question she can answer easily and honestly]

No. Checked that earlier. He remembers chips in London with me. [Or maybe he's just not forgetting her yet]

"M'tired of staying here. Want to break out? I don't like this place." Rose tries for a smile.

He grins, the sharpness of his features giving it a slightly evil cast that's unintentional. His yellow-gray eyes glint a little, even in the holo image. "Well, that's an interesting prospect. Should I meet you somewhere?"

She's glad she's caught his interes and returns one of her own that's less wolfish. "I'm out by the barrier, west side of the City." She pauses because she feels it's only fair to warn him. "Nothing we're doing is much like 1932. S'more of my world."

And by that she doesn't just mean 2008. Just so he's prepared.
