She's still observant to the point of paranoia, looking in all angles as she approaches the gates, but...well, she thinks she might have gotten through okay.

The Extras may not be particularly clever or independent, but they can be given enough instruction to cover basic duties around the castle. Such as those manning the gates of the high stone walls surrounding the grounds and castle itself-
"State your business."

Luckily the Extras don't really mind; they've got what they need from her and the smaller gate opens to allow her through. From there she'll be escorted into the castle (...and probably relieved of her weapons long before she reaches the Countess); the Extra staff here have already been given instructions to show Fred through to where Petra is working in the library.
