Ignoring the pedestal nearby-- and in fact, the whole room for the moment-- Simon reaches again for Jayne's arm. "Another few steps and you'll actually fall, so just let me look and then we can both move on."

And again Jayne jerks away, but maybe not so hard this time. On account of not wanting to fall and crack his head and make Simon laugh at him.

"Fine, but ain't nothin' wrong no more so you just keep your...hooks an' knives and such to yourself."

At this point in time, Jayne falling and cracking his head open might be more entertaining than usual, so his caution is well-placed.

"Just the saws, then. Would you hold still, I haven't even touched anything yet."

"Don' want you touchin' nothin', it ain't hurtin' no more!"

It's the honest truth too, there's blood still on his sleeve but his flesh feels good as ever.

Oh, look. It's worse!

"You're back."

She looks particularly shocked by the holo in front of her. It's not certain whether it's because (Simon Simon Simon he's back) it's her brother here again after so many months, or because it's her brother and Jayne.

"Mèimei?" As always, the sight of River is a relief-- she's here, she's safe, he hasn't failed her again-- but if this really has to do with the Alliance, he'd rather she be far away. "Are you all right?"

He gets a perturbed look for that. He always asks that. "Yes," she says with a sigh that is just as perturbed as the look because she'd have been much better if he hadn't left in the first place.

Really, Simon.

But relief that he's here outweighs all that pretty quickly, even if he's here with Jayne.

"There's a door. It's cold out."

That look makes Simon smile in relief, paradoxically; if River's treating him like a particularly slow child, then he doesn't need to worry more than usual, not yet.

"Good."

Now his look is slightly more concerned, the tiny hologram suddenly taking on his classic 'River, are you feeling all right?' face. "River, there's no door here."

Oh look, dinner and a show. [Levi, knock it off. Last time you did this, half your face was burned off.]

Being that Simon and Jayne have not yet managed to locate their tablets, here Levi. Have a pissy doctor looking around suspiciously, then crossing his arms over his chest.

"I think you've managed to get the wrong idea."

And what exactly is the right idea, dare I ask?

"I'm not..." Simon's voice trails off, and his hologram looks around for a moment, obviously trying to find an explanation for their new surroundings. "Actually entirely sure."

Second verse, same as the first! A leather clad Faith rolls her eyes at the tablet.

"Haven't gotten any quieter, babe."

Hello, pretty stranger Jayne would like to know better! (It's the leather.)

"Well I ain't found no reason to keep my mouth shut just yet." That wouldn't sound so crude if it wasn't for the leer.

Considering last time they met Jayne attempted to flash her his manparts, this is downright genteel.

"Welcome back, or whatever. Still got a girl's name?" ...Faith.

That's only 'cause nobody's tried to convince him they're missing yet.

"Heeeeeey." There's that gorram tickle in his head again. "You look kinda familiar. And it ain't a girl's name."

Well, this is unexpected. Jayne and Simon arriving simultaneously, and making a load of hellish noise to go with it. Of course Mal isn't pleased to see them. Not even a little.

"Gentlemen! So kind of you to join us. Now, for the benefit of those watchin' at home, why don't you try that once again, only this time with louder discussion of your private business and lookin' just a fraction more stupid? Oh wait, that's impossible. Carry on then."

Jayne's so used to Mal remarking on his intelligence that he hardly pays it any mind. Though he'll admit to being a little pleased to hear Simon called stupid. This being Simon's fault and all, due to his secretly being Alliance.

It makes sense in Jayne's head.

"'Bout time somebody who ain't crazy showed up to talk. You're gonna get us outta this, right, Mal?"

Oh, there are all different kinds of stupid. Simon just happens to be a different kind to Jayne. More... selective.

"What? While you two are providin' such excellent entertainment? And all for free, too? I think not."

Jayne almost looks a little bit hurt, there. And a little bit panicked. "C'mon, you can't leave me in here with him!"
