"OW! Bèn tiānshēng de yìduī ròu. Ain't met a doctor yet didn't get into it for th' pain-causin' part." Jayne's grumbling's precedes his entrance into view, shoved along by an exasperated looking Simon. He'd head for that stupid chair where the doc does all his torturing, but...it looks to have disappeared. "Wha

"Fine, but ain't nothin' wrong no more so you just keep your...hooks an' knives and such to yourself."

"Just the saws, then. Would you hold still, I haven't even touched anything yet."

It's the honest truth too, there's blood still on his sleeve but his flesh feels good as ever.

For a man built like several brick walls, Jayne is closer to a small child than the mercenary he is when it comes to anything medical.

"Yeah, well maybe I'll do that." Kaylee'd help him, Simon ain't the only genius-like one in these parts.
That platform thing is kinda small. Maybe he won't be the one takes an accidental tumble...

"I'll be sure to look appropriately solemn at your funeral."

"Ain't gonna be no funeral 'cept what's comin' to the húndàn got me stuck here with you." He cradles Vera in the crook of his arm, comforting-like.

"You'll lose enough blood to weaken you beyond repair, your immune system will shut down, infection will set in, and you'll die." That is, of course, doctorly concern in his voice and not a small amount of bloody-minded glee.

"Look here, I ain't losin' no blood an' dyin' 'cause there ain't no more wound!" He balances Vera on his shoulder and shoves his arm in Simon's face. "Now shut your yap and don't do nothin' suspicious-like 'til I figure things out."

"Thank you." Simon grabs hold of the out-thrust arm, inspecting it carefully. "...You're right." It pains him to say that, by the way. Letting go of Jayne's arm, he shakes his head. "You had a cut the length of both my hands, and it's gone."
That worry is upgraded to 'needed now', at this point.

"Well I see why you're th' genius," he mocks, twitching his arm like he needs to get the feel of Simon's hands off. "So I reckon we're dead or we're someplace where they got some kinda fancy healin'-from-a-distance machines."
He doesn't mention that 'dead and gone to hell' could be downright likely, considering the company he's keeping.

He won't even be addressing that pathetic attempt at mocking. "If we're dead, I hardly think we'd end up together. Or that death would look so much like the clean room at MedAcad."
They are, for once, in agreement.

"I say we break out an' shoot anyone gets in our way." This would Jayne's standard plan of escape, by the way.
Reply
"...I'll try and contain my shock." That would be Simon's standard plan of wishing Jayne was a slightly more educated ape.
