[Location: Taxon] Think I'll go for a walk outside

Nov 17, 2009 23:42

Anna had been in a rut. As much as an angel, who had been around since the beginning of time, had seen everything, could be. She'd actually gone as far as showering and changing her clothes. She enjoyed the fact that, after Halloween, that the weather actually changed in the city. It felt more like fall and that was Anna's favorite season ( Read more... )

Uhura was out, too, looking around for Gaila. She hadn't seen her friend in a few days and was getting very worried. She probably could have looked her location up on the tablet, but...she didn't. She didn't want to be told by her tablet that her friend wasn't there anymore.

If that was even the case. It might not have been.

She spotted a flash of brilliant red hair as she walked and almost ran over to the girl, but realized quickly that the skintone was completely wrong. Still, she nodded politely to her as she walked by.

"Hello."

Anna heard the rush of footsteps, then their falter. Turning her head, Anna looked to Uhura, arching an eyebrow just slightly. "Hello."

Studying the young woman's face, she noted the concern. Anna tilted her head to the side. "Is there something I can help you with?"

"No, sorry. I just saw your hair and thought you might be a friend of mine for a second - hers is about the same color as yours," Uhura explained.

"And here I was, thinking I was the only person with this shade of red," Anna said with a small smile. "Has it been very long since you last saw her?"

The library seemed a good place to head to. Taxon wasn't exactly the most scintillating of prisons, and books seemed a good way to alleviate some of the boredom. The chance of discovering a bit more about her prison wasn't something that would go amiss either.

Her nod to the woman she approached (a real woman, not one of those strange programmed automotons she disliked so) was perfunctory, but polite.

Anna glanced over at the woman when she approached, heading in the direction that Anna was coming from. She nodded back, flashing a polite smile. Unable to quit old habits, Anna watched everyone when they were out and about. She knew that this one was named 'Sarah'. But that was about it.

"Is the library this way/" She asked it even though she knew. It never hurt to be friendly, she told herself, or to try and get more information from contacts.

Anna turned to glance over her shoulder, first at Sarah, then in the direction she had been walking from. "Yes. You're only a few blocks away," Anna said with a reassuring nod.

...Anna, are you okay? [Yeah; she's been feeling a bit miserable lately too]

Not really.

[It was a simple reply, but it spoke volumes.]
