003: ACCIDENTAL VISUAL//LOCATION: GYM [scribbled out the truth with their lies]

Max knew it was probably ridiculous to be this pissed off about something mentioned in a gossip column that wasn't even true, but she'd had enough accusations about her fidelity lately. So after attempting to smooth things over with Kirk and Buffy via the tablets (though the smoothing over didn't seem to be as necessary as she'd thought it would be ( Read more... )

Peter had a habit of ignoring gossip columns. They were always after their family with his Dad and Linderman's partnership, and Nathan moving into politics. That meant he had a very mellow demeanor to the whole situation and hardly had an opinion on it. But when Jim's and Max's voice rang through the Sanctuary For All with such anger at the post, he figured he should have checked it out.

He had been on his way to Max's room to talk to her about the article. The memories in his mind about her latest en-devours were still swimming a round. And, well, Peter had a habit of being a sort of faithful puppy to people he cared about. Especially in a situation where they were upset. Sadly, Max wasn't in her room but it seemed her tablet had a feed.

He leaned against the wall, one hand in his jean pockets as he looked at the screen. "You left the tablet on." He tried with a lighthearted tone.

What the...

Max heard his voice and spun around, locating where she'd left her tablet and...finding out she had, indeed, left it on.

"Shit," she muttered under her breath before heading to where she'd left it, pushing her hair out of her face before picking it up and smiling sheepishly at him.

"Careful. Apparently talking to me will land your name in the tabloids."

He shrugged. "Been there, done that. Nathan told the press that I was manic depressive and I had that story following me for a month until he was elected to Congress."

A clever way of telling her he didn't care? Perhaps.

"...Damn. Now I feel like an idiot for getting so pissed about my 'indiscretions'."

Max found a chair against the wall and sat down, trying to smooth her hair back - it and the rest of her had gotten a bit sweaty while she'd been attacking the bag. "Sorry for waking you up, by the way."

Hey, Max. Here's Simon looking a little awkward. "You... seem to be broadcasting." Then, because he's physically incapable of not being an older brother and a doctor: "You should wrap your hands. You'll damage them, if you continue like that."

Oh hai Simon, good to see you! It's cool, she's been made aware of the fact that she was broadcasting by now (and is a little more embarrassed about it than she'll admit, but whatever).

She looks down at her hands - the knuckles do, indeed, look a bit scratched up, and hitches one shoulder in a shrug. "I heal pretty fast. But I'll keep that in mind for the future."

Oh look, it's the wild doctor-y know it all! Let's see what he does next. "All the same. You might want to bandage them, after. Use antibiotic cream, maybe."

She nodded, looking at her right hand as she flexed it before turning her attention back to the tablet. "Will do, thanks." A beat. "Have I been broadcasting long?"
