It's Tall Ships weekend here: the harbour is full of massive, old-fashioned sailing vessels, including the Bluenose II that's normally based in Lunenburg, NS - that's the one on the face of the Canadian dime:

Sure thing - if your address is the same as it was at Christmas, I've got you covered. :)

Technically it's the Tall Ships Festival, and it started on like Tuesday, but most of the activity is concentrated on the weekend, for obvious reasons. Some of the ships you can tour, some you can just look at and talk to the crew and stuff; it depends on what the owner is comfortable with. The Bluenose II where it usually is, does go on several sails daily, and there are a couple of ships based in Halifax that do the same kind of thing, a good hour and a half, two hour sail for whatever price. The Silva can be booked for dinner cruises and the like as well, which I think would be pretty cool. But they're really just awesome to see, especially all in a big group like this, all the old-fashioned style sailing vessels. It makes the imagination go nuts. :D

Oooh. I got to take my Mom and Dad on the Bluenose II in Halifax about two years ago and it was quite the experience. We also got to see one of the ships that was in the harbour that had been in one of those "Extreme Engineering" shows on Discovery. Yeah I know, my geek is showing ;)

21st... I'll be in Sarnia rocking to Leppard with Bella and Kelpie :) My copy'll be in when I get home most likely.
