La famille

I wish it were possible to have a lengthy, serious conversation with my mother that did not involve me crying, I really do. I'm not even always that upset; it's like the tears just queue up and wait for it. *sigh* It was good that we talked in a general sense, but I don't think it ended up clearing my head at all in relation to my current thoughts ( Read more... )

Hugs, Tas. Just remember - life is for living. Even if we make mistakes, it's better to live life and make them, then curl up in a ball and watch life pass us by. Mistakes can be painful, and hard, and destructive. Ultimately though, they shape who we are as people. If you hadn't made mistakes in the past, you wouldn't be the Tas we know and love today. If you hadn't taken those roads, you would be an entirely different person. And since I think you're freaking awesome the way you are, how, in the end, can mistakes really be called mistakes? I feel like maybe that's simplistic in some ways, but it's how I try to live my life. Because we only get one shot at it. I'd rather make mistakes from doing, rather then know that my mistakes are, in fact, regrets.

And I will shut up now. Ignore anything that you find irritating, and just take the hug if that's all you need.

They are hard decisions! But no matter how big or momentous the consequences, remember virtually NOTHING is irrevocable. It's easy to let yourself be paralyzed by the "OMG What if this is the wrong thing?" but so what? You can always change your mind. Go with what feels right now and don't worry about whether it will be right down the line. Don't let inertia keep from making the changes you need to.

Hugs, Tas!

One of the best pieces of wisdom from the "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" books is on how to be a better listener. When listening to friends, I try to remember to ask "Do you want my advice, or do you just want me to listen?"

So I'll just listen and offer hugs here. :)

*hugs and hugs and hugs* I love you, babe. I know you feel like shit right now (god, I think we've all been there) but I know you can get a handle on this and get through it. *nuzzles* And if you need someone to ramble/rant/rage/whine/etc. at, you know I am here. *loves*
