So last night I woke up at 2:30 AM.

The first thought in my head was: "Why is hatchingfic not a super popular genre?!"

And then I laid in bed for quite a while trying to figure out why everybody isn't writing fics where fully grown adults hatch out of huge eggs (not wingfic, there were no wings). I thought about writing a fic where Sherlock does this ( Read more... )

i blame ish, for the lulz, ridiculousness, fandom: sherlock, silliness, fandom, fic

That's actually a very valid question.
I now crave hatchingfic and have no way to meet my needs.

Awww, I'm sorry. Maybe I'll spark off a whole new fandom trend and then you'll have lots to read!

1. Inception away all thoughts of Omegaverse in Sherlock fandom.
2. Replace with hatching!fic.
3. ???
4. Profit!

I'm pretty sure I've seen some around, though.

Hahahaha. Does it really exist? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, fandom has done nearly everything.

But yes. Profit!

Rule 34, etc. But yes, it does exist, though I'm afraid I didn't bookmark it. Sherlock was the one laying eggs, IIRC? It was... something.

there are quite a few of them in Supernatural fandom as far as I know

Hahahaha I never even thought about who was laying the eggs.

There just would be, in Supernatural.

Somebody's really going to have to start writing this. Just so I can say I founded a genre.

I must have had some crack with my coffee this morning. I have just started a hatching story. John is the egg. Sherlock's lab notebook is titled “Incubation Procedures for Optimum Egg Hatchability”.

I'll keep you posted.

THIS IS SO EXCITING. SHERLOCK BEING SCIENTIFIC ABOUT HATCHING. YES.

I look forward to it.

Oh god. This is genius. Oh my god.

I think all the eggs are in the Doctor Who fandom. Moffat must have been a little confused.

Are there eggs in Doctor Who fandom? I haven't ventured there in ages.
