Young Justice animated series pilot review/ramblings

Okay, I admit. I caved.

Been hearing such positive buzz about the pilot that my curiosity was piqued and you know when that happens I just HAVE to look at things.

(Plus they have Miss Martian. And she's adorable and I love her.)

SO! I will be jotting down some thoughts on Episode One and Two, the two-part pilot "Independence Day"

*SPOILERS* )

robin peril, fandom, squeeage, robin, superheros, epic lulz, teen titans, omg, fangirling, comic books, batman, young justice, wtf, shows, ttg!, flailing, dick grayson

I just finished watching it (searching through a half-dozen dead Youtube links before finding a live one), and have so much love for this review.

I was so disappointed when I heard that there would be no Tim-Robin on the show, but much of that got better when I actually watched it and Dick proved to be beyond believably adorable. I'm not totally sold on Aqualad yet, and the fact that Superboy is more of a blank slate than his cocky would-be womanizer comic self, but the episode(s) was a badass experience, and they characters will, in fact, keep me coming back for more.

And I love watching your shipping confusion. It is similar to my friend-shipping confusion. (If Robin is Dick!Robin and not Tim!Robin, then does this mean that Robin is besties with Kid Flash rather than Superboy? Or does this change?)

And now I need a new icon for this show.

Well you know, being only sixteen weeks old and having been brainwashed/taught by creepy emotionless telepathic goblin things your whole life...

I think he'll warm up after he's been around people and sunshine some more.

Ha ha, I think we'll both have to wait and see how everyone's relationships to each other works. (Hoping for awesome girl-bonding between Miss Martian and Artemis myself.)
