I think I might agree with you on season 6, but I found season 5 very refreshing after the drama of Davies and Ten. Hopefully season 7 will settle into a less frantic pace.
I was going to say the exact same thing, but you said it first.
On the christmas special though....well, I loved last year's to little bitty pieces, even though I knew I shouldn't have. I was so looking forward to this year's special, and was pretty disappointed in it. Granted, we were making Christmas dinner (hello, internet. How I love you) and I had family running every which way, so maybe I was too distracted to really give it any love, but it just didn't seem to have any weight to it, which had me going, "WTF?" instead of marveling at niftiness (see: last year). Plus the Doctor is kind of stupid for not thinking that River might have spilled the beans. Also, apparently something horrific happened to Rory's hair.
Hmmm, I'll have to rewatch for Rory hair debacles. And no, being able to pay complete attention would not have helped - AT ALL :( I tried watching it twice, gave up the first time and then attacked it again. Sigh.
I'm going to rewatch the Christmas Carole one again :)

Honestly, too rushed and too manic is kind of how I've felt about the entire Moffat stint with 11.
