Hey,

Thanks to that pingback_bot, I learned of your rec. Wanted to send my deepest, and most sincere thanks. I'm honored you spent time reading the story and that it worked for you.

I am working on another GEN Big Bang only this one will be for the gen exclusive big bang here: http://community.livejournal.com/spn_gen_bigbang/ It's a smaller challenge based on smaller word-counts, but since I can't write anything short to save my live, I'm still sweating this one. Hoping I'll make the deadline.

Anywhoo, I hope to see you there! Thank you again.

It took RDA five years to get a new series so Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett still have some time. It also depends on what the actor wants in a career. Would they be happier with a low key career like Jim Beaver who is successful enough, or do they want to be the movie star. Another path is to direct like Jonathan Frakes does. Most of the actors who I liked are working, maybe not as a lead in their own series but in cable movies or something.

It think Jensen Ackles will find something when SPN ends.

true, true. There are a good many 'steady' actors from shows I have liked who continue to work and have bit parts or smaller roles. Like Michael Shanks and Paul McGillion appearing in SPN. Johantah LaPagilia who I first watched in Seven Days has happily worked, hopping from series to series. And I am always glad that they can do that, have agents who look after them, etc etc. It's nice when you spot someone you liked from another series in something else. :) Or if they get a new show, like Nathan Fillion or Michael Wetherley, or Skeet Ulrich.

I still wonder though... if they are content with their lot, or not :) Secretly hoping for something more.

I am holding thumbs for Jensen too :)

huh! Cool SG1 story :) Glad you 'found' it in the end.

Yep, a deep question indeed and one I still wonder about at times. Especially when you hear stories about actors who get a small taste of fame and let it go to their heads and blow their shot in the some.

Like Crispin Glover. He initially made it big in Back to the Future, as the young George McFly and was kinda popular after the first movie. But then let it all go to his head and asked for a ridiculous (apparently) salary to appear in Back to the Future 2.

So the movie producers canned me and cast a look a like for the brief George McFly scenes in 2 and 3.

And it has only been recently - with Charlies Angels etc that he was in a major movie.

I haven't seen the B-movies you mention (and probably won't) :)

I really can't thank my brother enough, as Stargate totally changed my life. I didn't have friends before, didn't fit in, and this was the first time I got so much involved into a fandom, I read and wrote fanfictions, went to conventions, did music-videos and whatever goes with being creative. And I found friends all over the world and learnt to use the internet and learnt all my English. All because my brother saw in a TV paper "MacGyver - Richard Dean Anderson" and wondered, isn't that the Stargate guy ( ... )

If it pays the mortage... I think that's a 'rationale' that has resulted in a lot of 'weird' movie choices. I understand it, sure, but still wonder at times.

It's awesome that you found a wonderful space in SG fandom, truly. It really can open up a world for you :)
