Being of a wood cookstove background, I thankfully never got into the habit of leaving too many items sitting on the stovetop. That did certainly work as a good reminder though, since I have been getting lazier with my electric stove.

I, unfortunately, have FAR too much sitting on my stovetop, since it's another somewhat clear flat surface. The ONLY clear flat surfaces in my 2-bedroom apartment that I can think of right now are my bed, and my computer chair. Although a larger than usual area of my living room floor is clear, but it's slowly being encroached upon by bags of project stuff again.

I'm not sure I'd know what to do with clean, clear, flat surfaces. Although I do want to clear the kitchen table soon so I can do another jigsaw puzzle; been far too long since I've done one in the flesh, instead of online.
