Well, just got home from out at Fisherman's Cove with mom, sis and nephew... spent time on the beach, went wading, got me a big clamshell (half of which I broke later on while waiting at the bus, woops), got a few minutes to lay in the sun, which was nice. There, got my stock pot crammed full of goldenrod I just picked. And I mean it's within 1" of the top, and I think it's a 12 qt pot. *grins* Hopefully that'll be enough for the 3 m of silk and 3 m of silk/linen, and if not, I can always go out and get more for a second dyebath later on in the week ( Read more... )

There, finally got the indian cotton for my Persian shirt in the tannic acid bath. I have my silk in the washer now, and will have to set up the alum bath for that and the cotton in the next half hour or so. Well, the spinning is going well.  I have 128 yards done now. I can definitely feel the weight difference in the spindle.  I need more spindles ;)  I figure I'm going to spin 12 lengths of ~205 yards, then ply those into 4 skeins of 3-ply, as the pattern suggests that much yarn.  I know my scarf will be smaller, because the yarn will be very thin, ( Read more... )
