I am not well versed on the subject of weird internet things; I come here for the fic, the cartoons and occasionally to bitch about how deeply, deeply shit a lot of humans are. I also don't know a lot about furries, except that they dress up in costumes and write stories about humans with fur having sex with other humans with fur. Scales. A trunk.

I think that the anti-furry feeling may be part of that, if the robo-loving fandom was a bit bigger we'd probably get flack for it too.
Or it may be that robots are just that cool, and we get a bit of street cred from cyberpunk etc.
It is interesting that even in a place were taboo is supposed to be less that there is still that feeling of revulsion against something that when you look at it logically, really isn't that bad compared to everything else out there.

I think there's a point at which 'weird' becomes cool and alternative- TF fandom probably lands there. Furries just aren't quite freaky enough to be alternative, but they're certainly weird enough to be mocked. (Not that that's good thing; that's a pretty lousy thing, I think.)
Plus, our fic is a billion times better.
Plus, it's harder to make a giant robot suit for Cons than a furry suit, so less people see us having geek fun.
Plus, we have Megatron. And he's scary.

I think another good point is that drawings of big stompy robots are indisputibly cool, whereas drawings of human size bipedal animals with breasts make my head hurt.
I post a bit, mostly fic - however I share my journal with my partner-in-crime ClankClank, so there's usually some sort of update semi-regularily.
