Pregnant in a Laundry Room

These events took place a few years before my homeless odyssey story, when I was pregnant with my first child, Lakshmana. We had been living in the Spanish apartments at 3816 Watseka Avenue since our arrival in Culver City in August of 1976. Thanks, but I don't know if it was strength or stupidity. It takes me a while to wake up and realize that I can change unpleasant things in my life. I just get into this mindset of enduring, I suspect because of the way my mother was and the fact that there was no escape from her moods and violence.

During these events I went from 18 to 19. Of course Mahasraya would never celebrate a birthday or something thoughtful like that! I remembered his every year in September but when December rolled around I got NOTHING, not so much as a card.

Up
