Okayokay. Does anyone have experience for ripping movies from Sony Handycam mini-DVDs? I have been trying to do this for DAYS now and stuff keeps getting messed up. When using the camera's software, two of the DVDs rip correctly, but the third will only play in certain programs. It's a Sony. File corruption wouldn't surprise me (and leads to the same problem when I try to convert them to mkv)

Oh lol, you're using the Camera's software? You fail.

Pop that shit in a DVD drive and extract it manually. And don't use AVI, that's fucked up too. use MPEG.

I have tried that method also. I've used HandBrake and some awful command-line type thing.

The camera's software was a last resort, actually, so don't you sass me. D:

Isn't HandBrake a front end to "some awful command-line type thing" (which I'm guessing refers to FFmpeg)?
