aw.. how cute! I love how much hope there is in this, and Jack's enthusiasm and how Ianto jumps the gun. Quite brilliant.

Hope is a very powerful defence. I had fun with Ianto being the one to propose and Jack being pouty because he'd wanted to do it. I'm glad you liked it!

Holy cow. I'm... really kind of speechless right now. Not only was the imagery gorgeous, but it was even more beautiful that you worked in a tribute to Owen and Tosh as part of it, and as part of them.

And this speech by Jack:

"I want to commit to you, Ianto," Jack tells him honestly, "and I'll do that by the rules of the time period I live in. One thing the last few weeks has driven home is that everything could change in an instant. I don't want to have any regrets. You know what I am. You know better than anyone else alive who and what I am, and you still look at me like I'm someone worth caring about. I want you to understand how much I value that, how much I value and love you."

... totally made me cry. That was just so beautiful. Thank you!

Yes! *punches air* I'm really glad you liked it, as it was your prompt. I'm also glad you liked Jack's speech, because I was trying to be romantic without being too mushy, if you see what I mean, but I really think that Jack is more than capable of commitment once he gets over his terror of being hurt.

Yes, I am the same way when things get a bit too mushy (I mean these are guys, after all ;-D), but I think you hit the balance perfectly. Deeply heartfelt with the underlying passion and joy in each other's company readily apparent, but still very much within the context of the characters we've seen.
