Incredible...

This post I will leave open (feel free to bash)
I want those who it concerns to see.

I am really fed up with bad translation. A lot of you translate lyrics stealing the original meaning, adding fluff to it, not caring if they really sing it like that. Just to sound nice, to be grammatically correct. Only a little word which you use a synonym of can ( Read more... )

first, we should appreaciate all the hardwork of the translators out there.
i believe, or i want to believe, they are all trying and doing theirbest.
most of them admit their work arent 100% correct.
so, i make no big deal with the mistakes. well i couldnt spot mistake anyway since i dont understand the language.
translators help me, and i think most of foreign fans, to enjoy our idols more and in better way.
the point is they are TRYING to give something to the fandom.
without them, fandom would feel so dull.

in other side, off course i want a correct translation.
but i cant demand much right. i'm happy enough with what they give.
maybe people like u should give critics and correct them.
i understand that u are feeling irritated by all the mistranslations since u know the language.
so how about u join one fansub so we are all can enjoy the true translation of lyrics/drama/movie/etc.
babel looking for one if u have any interest. or u can work solo ^^

you are right about that they are trying to give their best. But sometimes even giving best is not enough. Of course they admit its not 100% Mine not either, everyone can make mistake ( ... )

yeah.. they should be more careful and have some kind of responsibility feeling toward their work. a work ethic. subbing can be a serious business.
i know this one subber and i know she made mistake over and over again. actually one of the translator of DB is her too. she said she live in japan. idk whether she is too lazy to recheck her work or do the mistake deliberately.
i know that "ganbaru" is not enough. just.. most fans dont understand the language so they feel so grateful with subbers work.
in the end, i only can trust fansub will do their best with their work. and maybe, give some critics if i happen to see some aspect lacking.

finding a good and reliable translator is a hard task.

It is not that you shouldnt feel grateful.
But do you know how many fansubbers are? They don't care for quality, all they care that their team should be the first one to translate a new outcoming thing.
That it is THEIR project.. -___-
They think its a competition.
If someone (who maybe KNOWS Japanese and doesnt translate from English subtitles) wants to translate it or they really do, there will start the war "butitwasmyproject"
That's why I am out of this even before entering it. But if you have a show which someone already translated but u dont trust it, I will try to translate it, let it be a musical or anything. (not that I am God, I can make mistakes too.)
