Log;
Just when he was starting to be okay with this place...

ITS MONSTROSITIES WERE BACK.

"YOU DON'T WANT TO EAT ME! I DON'T TASTE GOOD! REALLY!" Yuuhi shouted as he ran for his life, grocery bags swinging wildly as he charged towards Building 1. The ceatures paid no attention to his words as they gave chase, slashing at him when they thought they were close enough. The young chef, with adrenaline pumping through his system, didn't notice whatever cuts and grazes his back recieved as he raced forward; he couldn't be distracted from his inner shrieks of "GET INSIDE! GET HOME NOOOOOW!"

Nearly breaking the Building's door down, he dashed down the hall and slammed back into their apartment, breathing heavily. Spinning around, he locked the door and peeked frantically through the small hole at his eye-level. They didn't seem to have followed him inside.

Letting out a sigh of relief, he turned to Aya. "How ya holdin' up there?" He asked as he set the bags down, beginning to unpack their contents. Just what they needed to get rid of the girls hang over.

"Uwahh~ Yuuhi, wha'ssall that noise for..?? Oh! Did ya bring me some goodies from the store? Ya' didn' have ta, y'know~ We got plenty of leftovers! Mmmmmm, nee~?" Aya groggily sat up and rubbed one of her eyes roughly, her hair somewhat messy from her restless sleep through most of the day. Cheeks flushed, and small pangs of pain filled her head - she drank a little much the previous night at the karaoke party. Thankfully, it turned to be a success! And she was happy, despite the strange feelings she had leftover from her activities.

Bedhead Aya. Somehow, tousled hair and a not-quite-awake-yet expression still looked cute on her. It took quite an effort on his part to force himself to keep steady on his task of making a hang over remedy and not lose himself in thoughts of the previous night.

"I wouldn't call them goodies," He remarked. "This isn't going to taste that great, but it'll help."

She stared at him blankly for a moment, not quite sure what he meant by 'help'. Sure, her head hurt, but a little Asprin could fix that, right?

"I don't neeeeeed any nasty tasting stuuuff~! Why would ya do somethin' like that, Yuuhi-kuu~n? You're sucha good cook, why all that talent to waste on somethin', mmmm..??" Aya started to adjust herself so she could stand up and find what he was talking about.

Yuuhi had bought a lime, some sugar, fresh peppermint, and a persimmon. He was in the process of mixing the lime juice and sugar in a glass of water. "After you drink this, either eat the persimmon or the peppermint leaves." He told her, pointing. "The different tastes will clash a bit, but they'll help with the headache."

"Mm a new recipe of yours, Yuuhi..? Looks... interesting." Careful not to tip the glass over, Aya took it tightly in her hands and licked her lips before bringing it up to drink.

S-sour..?? Augh, that was not limeaide, or whatever it was. The sugar didn't help much. Her eyes boggled a little as she sputtered a little and forced a gulp down. "D-do I have to drink the rest..??" she whined softly as she took a look at the peppermint leaves, and plucked one off to hold it to her face to examine.

"Yeah, you do, but drinking it slowly is better anyway." He leaned against the table, trying not to let his gaze linger on her too long. Things had been awkward enough last night as it was.

Still... He couldn't help but wonder why she had kissed him that night. That had to mean something, didn't it? And she had said he was hot... A light blush rose to his cheeks.

Did she... have feelings for him?

But, looking at her examine the peppermint leaves, he bit the inside of his cheek. 'Ask later,' He thought to himself. 'When she isn't still effected by alcohol...' With that, he turned back to his supplies and started cleaning up.

"Ngyaa~ you wanna kill me or something..? Here, I'll put more sugar in, ne...." as she groggily fumbled for the box and opened it to sweeten the drink a little more.

Soon enough, she had finished it all, despite a few little gags here and there from the herbs. The pounding in her head seemed to have ceased a bit, and by now she was awake enough to get around almost normally.

Rinsing out the used cup in the sink, she sighed and smiled as she thought about the karaoke party. "I'm so glad we had a good turnout, Yuuhi! Everyone sounded so awesome, and did you hear the way they cheered when I was done with my songs..?! Mm, it was like being with my friends in Tokyo again~"

She turned to watch him clean, not occurring to her that she should help him out. "And I know I said this before, but your food was great!! It really made the party that much more enjoyable~ I'm so proud of you!"

Aya gave him a happy pat on his shoulder and flashed a grateful smile.

Yuuhi felt himself turn bright red at the compliments and the touch. And the look; she was smiling for him, not at him, and it made his heart
skip.

"R-really?" Damnit, he was stumbling over his own words. "I'm glad you liked it so much; I just wanted everything to be right for your party." Augh, he sounded retarded! He loved and hated the effect she had on him. Right now, though, he wished he could have retained just a LITTLE of his sanity as she looked at him like that.

But then... She was up and about, doing fine now... He had to know. It was driving him crazy, and his questions couldn't wait.

"Um... Aya... About last night," He started, locking his eyes on a chair nearby so he wouldn't have to face her.

"...Did it mean anything to you? Or was it just....?" The alcohol. Don't say it was just the sake and the beer and that stupid drink the doctor brought in... please, don't just brush it off....

Aya glanced at him in curiosity, then poked her bottom lip in contemplation. "Eh..? Last night? Oh, you mean the food? Of course it means something to me, silly! That was really kind of you to take on such a huge job like that, so I'm sure you'll do great when you start your own resturan--"

The look he gave her wasn't what she was expecting. Hmm, maybe he means something else..?

She didn't remember. Of course; severely drunk Aya means completely oblivious Aya is what he'd be stuck with.

Should he tell her what happened, then? Or would it only... complicate things?

Hell, SHE was the one who had done something. He was just being the best friend. It wasn't his fault she had kissed him. SHE was complicating things!

But then, it wasn't her fault he was in love with her. And things WOULDN'T get iffy if he remained silent.

Fuck that. Touya didn't deserve all the attention she gave him. Where the hell was he, and what was he good for anyway?

Yuuhi never left her side. He never wanted to. All he wanted was to take care of her. And he knew she enjoyed his company. So why was it that he never felt like he was enough for her?

Maybe he could be. Maybe... But he'd never know if he never spoke out.

"Last night when I was carrying you here..." He started, running a hand through his hair nervously.

"....You kissed me."

He swallowed hard. Why was this so difficult to say?

"So...So I was just wondering, you know... If that meant anything."

Aya stopped suddenly and felt her heart drop into her stomach. "......... I-I.... ki-ssed.. you..??"

Oh.. oh no. She wasn't sure what to think, but afraid of stuttering, she bit her lower lip and stared at him in borderline disbelief. Yuuhi definitely wasn't the type to lie, that's for sure. So then it really must have happened......

"Ah... Yuuhi, I-I'm sorry. I.. sort of remember! Actually.. heh," she giggled nervously to herself and tried her best to smooth down her hair, fiddling with the ends of a lock she held in one hand. "I remember you carrying me now, and then..."

Oh crap. I did.

"Mm... to be honest.. I'm not really sure." Her voice trailed off into a small and unsure whisper.

His heart stopped.

It seemed... He had a chance after all.

"Wha....What do you mean?" The chef's voice was hesitant, but firm. "I mean... I dunno, I've never seen you do anything like that... before... You know, when you've been drunk." He studied her closely; she was fidgety. She had something to be nervous about, then... Was she as confused about it as he was?

Well, he doubted it went THAT far, but...

"Aya..." He went to her and gently smoothed a hand down her hair, noticing her own hand drop away as his touch ended at her cheek. He searched her eyes; what was she feeling?

"Whatever it was that made you kiss me... Is it strong enough to take a chance with me?"

Badump, badump. Omg omg, what do I say..??

She wanted so much to have that warm feeling again. Not noticing she was subconciously leaning slightly towards his gentle palm's touch, Aya felt her face flush even more at the cheeks.

Her eyes glanced around the room, looking for something to stare off at, just so she wouldn't have to feel his eyes piercing hers. She didn't know what she wanted.

Her heart longed desperately for Touya, but... she didn't know when she would see him again except for the fleeting moments in her memory and the fountain. But she loved Touya! She promised him, and he was waiting for her, right..?

But Yuuhi was always there. Always protecting. Maybe not always kind, but he never minded being there for her, and...

Aya gulped hard and didn't make a move, practically holding her breath at his question. She had no idea what to say. So confused, so confused...

"Yuuhi.... I..."

Panicked. She was avoiding the question, and she looked like a deer caught in headlights. The more she hesitated, the more his conviction grew. He wanted her so badly... And she wasn't exactly saying no.

Slowly, he began to lean down, his hand moving to cup her face as the other went to her hip.

"Aya... It has to count for something... Right?"

Then, he closed the distance between them, his lips gentle but firm against hers. Don't pull away... Please don't pull away...

Soft and gentle. This familiar feeling was all too overwhelming, and she gave in, not sure what to do with herself. She closed her worried eyes
slowly, and leaned in cautiously, balancing herself with a hand on his shoudler.
Yuuhi.... Yuuhi. Aya couldn't set her mind straight, and her heart was swept up in the moment.

But wait..

I can-- this isn't.. right..

Timidly, she began to pull away, afraid already of what he might say. But..

Aya whispered ever so softly, her hand slidding slowly off his chest. "..I'm sorry.."

Yuuhi felt his heart plummet at her words. She had been kissing back... she felt something, he knew it.... So why...

Touya. It didn't matter if he was there or not... He'd always be on her mind. He'd always come first.

Yuuhi stood there for a moment, trying to think of something to do or say, but he couldn't. There was nothing TO say... Not now. She had made her decision. He looked away, forcing a smile.

"...Forget it, Aya, it was just... You know. Wishful thinking, I guess." The attempt at sounding casual was a good one, but he still couldn't bring himself to look at her.

He had to get out of that room.

"Listen, I'm going to take a shower. I got all sweaty running from those monsters. So... You just take it easy or something. And don't go outside." Without a second glance in her direction, he fled to the bathroom, sagging against the door as it closed.

Bitter and awkward silence.

Aya stared at the closed door, speechless and staggering her breath to regain her composure.
Oh gosh, not this....

Her steps followed her backward against the wall, hitting it roughly with her shoulders as she leaned against it, and slid to the floor.

".. What is wrong with me..."

Touya, Yuuhi, I'm sorry.
