Last Night's Progress

Mar 18, 2010 10:17

Well I didn't get as much done last night as I'd hoped, since I had the entire thread breaking problem (and there may have also been some breaks to cuddle with the cats, because it helps keep me slightly more sane. Kemuri and I had a very good trimming session as well, and I've nearly rid her belly of mats.) but here's what I did get done:

Wallace is off working on the trousers.

Don't let Wallace work on the trousers! He always gets them wrong!

but that's what seam tape is *for*... thus clearly you're supporting the seam-tape-producing industry so that all craftspeople everywhere will continue to be able to find it in the stores. ;)

I know, but it still reminds me of my mother ironing on patches in the knees of my jeans when I was a kid, which doesn't seem quite fitting for a fancy dress-up type dress.

I'd say this is more like having patches on the knees of your bloomers (underneath the formal dress,) which can be cute and endearing if you play it right. :)

Besides, you're setting grommets into the back of somebody's old formal dress. That's got to be some kind of ren faire punk or something, so you get points for weird construction methods. Especially if they actually work.

See, the thing is that I cannot figure stuff out from written descriptions. I just can't visualize the process. Pictures are helpful to me, so I assume they might be of interest to others.
