Being famous must be *really* tiring, not for commoners. They keep having to go to the emergency room for "exhaustion" (Dave Chappelle being the latest case). I don't know about you, but I can't think of anyone I know who's had that happen to them...

OK, so "Order of the Phoenix" is not bad, as a movie. They couldn't fix the stupid plot of the book (at least they muted it), but the visuals were nice and the director did a good job with the moods. The inquisitorial squad probably deserved more attention, but the movie is long enough as it is ( Read more... )

I just thought I'd mention that I went to see Spamalot last week. It was pretty cool, I already had the CD, but it did not quite do justice to the show.

OK, I haven't been posting, and I haven't been reading either. Frankly, 4 classes a semester is running me ragged. But anyway, the latest Weird Al came out yesterday. It's pretty good, although maybe not quite on par with the previous two, time will tell.

Still reading "Night Watch" and having a ball. The book's plot is quite different than the movie: as I'd hoped, it is more complicated yet makes more sense, because of the extra background material. The movie is only loosely based on the book, and the protagonists motivations are made less clear in the movie, essentially because these motivations ( Read more... )

We set off along a trampled path, overtaking women with shopping bags rambling home from the suoermarket. How strange it is that we have supermarkets now, just like the genuine article. But people still walk the same old tired way, as if they'd spent an hour standing in line for little blue corpses called chickens...

Well, we went and saw Clerks 2 friday night. Nothing great, certainly not the original, but it was quite a pleasant moment and Kevin Smith managed to revive the characters (and my interest for them) pretty well.
