Re: badly taxidermied cat. Best guess is that someone was going for the look of those cats with warped/exaggerated faces you often see on greeting cards.

Re: the spiders. See, now, these are critters I could get behind calling "twee." Perhaps even cute, the way they're all huddled together. But gnats? Gnats, m'dear, are not twee anything!

LOL, I'm surprised you didn't complain about the baby spider pic, what with being a member of spiderfree and all. ;) I love spiders enough that I have a 3"x5" spider tattoo, but that pic even made me go, "Ooh wow! ...But kinda weird. MUST REPOST."

Feel free to friend. :) I generally wait awhile to get a sense of someone before adding people, I've had a couple bad experiences that left me pretty paranoid. :/

Salt. It sounds heinous, but it'll melt slugs and snails. Oat bran will kill them too if they eat it, so sprinkle some of that around. And make beer traps; bury a plastic bowl or jar in the ground so they can easily climb into it, pour some beer in the bottom, and they'll crawl in and drown. Nasty little fuckers. :( You can also try giving your boys jars and offer them $0.05 for every slug they collect, it can be surprising how many slugs a couple motivated kids can collect.
