Last night, quick and dirty

Jun 06, 2009 06:51

Couldn't breathe, and this was a new kind of can't-breathe, the kind where even when I was breathing as deep as I could I still felt like I wasn't getting enough air. So finally around 12:30AM I broke down and called my friend C, who came over and watched the kids (Frolic wasn't home last night, he was off at a gig), and I headed off to a hospital ( Read more... )

gratitude, off to hospital land, sick, friends

Heh, I ended up having to do today on about 2 hours sleep... strangely, I coped okay. Usually lack of sleep completely kills my coping skills.

yikes! glad you got the inhaler. if you're not familiar w/ ventolin, it can make your heart race like mad. If it does, then fiddle with the dosage (half breath or whatever) until you're comfortable with the results.

*hugs*

hope you get some good rest and you start feeling better soon.

Yes, this. That side effect of ventolin can be scary!

(I still don't understand why the other dr didn't give you ventolin...)

Probably because my test results indicated mild asthma, so he wanted to wait until he knew for sure what we were dealing with and figured I'd be okay in the meantime. And I probably would have been okay (I mean, I've gotten through the last six months without an inhaler), except for the Stealth Pneumonia.

Ooh, thanks for letting me know this. It would have freaked me the hell out if my heart started racing afterward.

I've known people with full-blown pneumonia but didn't cough much. That's actually worse because you don't cough anything out so everything settles in the lungs. Keep an eye on it.

Yep. I had a brutal case of double pneumonia when I was 16 and I didn't have a cough or any other symptoms then either. Stealth pneumonia FTL.
