Happy New Year everybody! I'll prolly do one of those year meme thingies when I have time. Just want to wish everyone a better year than the last (which for me, for the most part, was rock bottom, so my standards aren't set high). Go out there and be awesome

My in-laws used to visit Charleston every winter for years - but do you think I remember a THING about where they went?? Uh, yeah, NOPE. So sorry! I do hope, though, you give us the insight on how you're spending personal funds for a work project... that just sounds... ILLEGAL?
*sigh* Anyway, hope the trip goes well and that you return to regale us all with your exploits - in my case, that would be "misadventures," but I think you're liable to get off easier than that. Good luck!

I don't know anything about Charlston, but every city has a historical district or quirky downtown area. Jump on a trolly if they have one and roll with it.
Charleston is bound to have some neat Civil War era things to see in public parks. Ask the people at the hotel or a perky wait staff person "If you only had one day in Charleston, what would you like to see." Chances are it's the simpler things that will surface.
