Pretty much a weekend round-up of Premiership and Calcio teams I follow, plus some Morientes because he's the reason I follow Valencia really. Unsorted, under a LJ cut.

I really think the mature Zlatan was a 90-minute aberration, created by his surprising (and totally endearing) inability to deal with the pressure and hatred the match threw at him. I fully expect him to do at last on inappropriate thing tonight. *fingers crossed*

And I don't like Roma even a little, but it's pretty adorable that Guily ran the whole length of the field to climb on his fellow Frechman like a monkey before he let anyone else touch him.

Haha, we're counting on you, Zlatan, to not be a grown up tonight! It's just not fun to see him not having a good time on the field.

I understand Roma plays exciting football, with the one-touch passing and all, but I so wouldn't be following them if Giuly wasn't there. His goal celebrations, when he's feeling on fire, are a sight to behold. :D Sadly, now I'm getting attached to the players, why did they have to hang out in the pool so much in preseason? I felt compelled to learn the names attached to all of those gleaming chests and I find myself wanting them to succeed, and not just for Giuly.

Zlatan is still 50% calm, but he's scored, so that's progress.

I will try not to hold the Roma thing against you. Really, I bet I wouldn't about them either way if Totti wasn't there, but I hate princess-y footballers, and he's their Crown Prince(ss). I always forget how much he bothers me until he plays a team I like, then all the hate comes flowing back (this season, I made it until the Inter match until I remembered).

(I daresay Inter needs a pool-obsessed photog, especially with The Serb spending all of his time there these days. They tell us this, you see, but never offer any evidence.)

Dammit. He's Zlatan without a Figo again though, that makes me sad.

*sigh* I go through periods where I am just amazed by Totti's skills, and then he'll do something 'princess-y' like you said and I'm just filled with...disappointment is the word, probably. He could be so much better if he'd grow up, stop letting himself be coddled. It's a bit disturbing to see them fawning over him even when he screws up.

(I seriously have letters I write in my head to various clubs about who's example they should follow in regards to publicity. One day I might just get cranky enough to actually write my letter of chastisement to all the offenders. Not having pics of your wounded players sitting in a hot tub is criminal)

It won't let me see Cesc having a go at Rio :(

Thanks for all this, I can't tell you how much (and you really wouldn't want to know) I have been using 'thinking about Giuly' as a coping device for this programming course.

The network you're on has no doubt banned all images depicting Arsenal players cursing at Manchester United ones. Far, far, is Ferguson's reach! :p

Does punch him?! I get a bit hypnotised by gifs, I have to be careful.

Oh, the climbing over Mexes! He sort of seems to defy gravity.

The gif did not upload properly! Try this one. And Rio takes a very manly swipe at Cesc, barely touches him, but I'm sure the emotional pain was far greater!

Giuly does defy gravity and it is awesome the way he is able to dangle like that! He is gifted.

Yay! Your pictures are wonderful and, of course, I laughed at the file names.

Yes. Cesc is totally a punk. I've never thought any differently. Especially after seeing him spit in someone's face. You just don't do that. But I can't help but like the kid for the way he plays and supports his teammates.

Mori Mori! He scored two times that game. I was glad for him.

Hai David Silva (how asian does he look anyways?)!

Oh Zlatan and Alessa...adorable! Although I don't like Alessa's hair cut. Nope.

Camo sporting the topknot. Is okay...but I prefer the ponytail. Evidently, he scored (because of the celebration pics) but what was the final score?

Glad you enjoyed! Some of those filenames from the Juve-Inter match I can't take credit for, bustedflush has a fun naming scheme and I usually don't change her file names.

I like Cesc too, he's a likeable guy, but I'm also very glad he's on our side. :p If he were on another team I'd probably be shaking my fist at him. (So long as he goes to Barça when he's older that won't happen.)

David Silva is Mori's favorite young player! Mori has good taste. :D And yeah, Silva does look kind of Asian, I often think a lot of the Spaniards and Italians look like they have mixed blood.

I don't like Del Piero's haircut either. What happened to his cute curls? He needs to bring them back!

The final score was 1-1. Camo came on as a late sub and equalized. bustedflush did a match report here and donnanocerino did a match report here. It's like you get perspectives from both sides of the battle, one is an Inter supporter, the other a Juve supporter.

Dear Lord, that picture of Jens and Drogba terrified me. (Well, then it reminded me of Guede's Arsenal fic.)

Cesc! Oh, Cesc, you little monster. (Also: on the subject of former Barca boys, Gerard scored!)

Aaaaw, Deco, he sounds so woebegone, I could see his eyebrows going into their sad setting as I was reading that. And that's interesting about his institute, I'd wondered how much of a disadvantaged background he'd come from but it's hard to tell, there seems to be two extremes discussed in regards to Brazilian players-Kaká middle class and rich and everybody else assumed to be dirt poor.

Hahaha, Jens and Drogba did that just to mess with us, I know it. And it made me think of Guede's fic too. :D

Aaaw, I wouldn't have any idea who Gerard was if it wasn't for your Messi fic, I'm glad he had a good Champions League debut. And Carlos and Cris! I still think he's cute too, ugly/cute, but still cute! Cristiano must agree. And the height difference. *sporfles*

Mori! Aaargh! Maybe it was a temporary very painful injury, I haven't seen any reports on the damage so far. But I love looking at pics of a happy Mori, he makes one of the best squee faces ever.

Eeeee! He's flying without wings! I need to break out into a Scottish brogue to express my joy! I knew he could do it! I even think the facial hair looks better now that it's longer. ♥

I still don't like the facial hair, but it's Henke, so I'll forgive him anything. :D

Striking the fear of goals into team everywhere, and totally not looking his age while doing it. That's Henrik.

Messi and Ronnie together make up the team colors of Brazil! And Puyol looks like he should have his own rockband. Daw, I like how Messi is in the middle.
