Ludwig could hear the Hufflepuff captain yelling something, but the wind in his ears made it hard for him to guess what it was. However, suddenly the three opposing Chasers descended on him.
He sped up to try to shake them, but the three matched his speed easily.
He watched his chasers attack the Ravenclaw chaser with great ferocity, hoping they could get the ball.
Suddenly, a flash of gold caught his attention. Turning his head he saw the stitch, winging it's merry way across the pitch in the bottom corner. He thought frantically, trying to figure out how to signal his team's seeker with letting the other team know. Remembering that the the young women spoke German, he yelled the information to her in that language.

Hearing the Hufflepuff Keeper shouting in German threw Ludwig off for a second. It had been a while since he head heard anyone in Hogwarts speak in his native tongue...
But it was only something to do with the Snitch... did the Hufflepuff Seeker know German?
Unfortunately, in the middle of his musings, the three Chasers took advantage of the situation and relieved Ludwig of the Quaffle.
Ludwig cursed loudly and began chasing after them again.
He noticed out of the corner of his eye as Ludwig reacted, but then all his concentration was on his seeker as she dove for the snitch. It took the other team's seeker a moment to realize what she was doing, but by the time he was able to dive after her the stitch had already become lost in the crowd of players. He was praising her for her dive when cursing caught his attention, and he looked up to see that his chasers had done their jobs. He smiled, but couldn't help thinking about the blonde chaser's reaction. Was that the reaction of a man startled by another language or someone startled to hear a language they knew.
Game play continued, balls being passed and goals being scored on both sides. Willem had just blocked another goal attempt when suddenly a flash of gold caught his attention, tossing the ball back into play, he yelled a warning to his seeker.

Before Ludwig had turned to chase the Quaffle, he heard the Hufflepuff captain again shout something in German. Without thinking twice, he shouted it in English towards his own Seeker, and then immediately flew after his fellow Chasers.
The sound of what he'd just said, translated into English, startled Willem so much that nearly didn't notice the ball in time. Luckily years of keeper training (and the fact that the ball was pretty much coming right at him) allowed him to catch the quaffle before it hit him in the face.
Mostly.
Recovering, he tossed it back absently, eying the blonde chaser. He was sure, now, which of his earlier two assessments was correct.
Damn, he'd enjoyed having that secret weapon in his back pocket.

The game went on for a little while longer, goals being scored equally by both sides, until ultimately the German Hufflepuff Seeker managed to snatch the Snitch.
The game had ended, and the Ravenclaws shouldered their defeat with dignity... it was only a scrimmage after all... and Hufflepuff wasn't exactly the worst House to lose to.
The teams flew down to the pitch's grass and began shaking hands with one another in a show of good sportsmanship.
He shook hands with the other team's captain, told his team he was proud of them, and reminded them about the post game meeting the next day. Having finished those tasks he made his way over to the Ravenclaw who had spoken German during the same, wanting to know more about this turn of events.
"You speak German," he said in the language as he drew near.

"So do you," Ludwig responded in German as the Hufflepuff Captain walked up to him. He gave a short laugh, "...and your Seeker. I had no idea anyone else in this school spoke it."
He smirked a bit, running hand through his sweat soaked hair. He gelled it this morning just to keep it out of his eyes, but now that he'd been up in the air for a while it was starting to come down.
"Lili's from Lichtenstein," he explained, grateful that for once he wouldn't have to explain to someone where that was. "I'm from Nederland."
The other man was from Germany, if his accent was anything to go by.
10. ...I swear I didn't cheat. So how to mix it up...talks_to_nisseJuly 19 2012, 05:35:40 UTC
Sindre rubbed at his temples as his class filed out. He hadn't realized teaching so many students, so close to his own age, would have been so difficult. It didn't help that so much of the text was wrong, that he was constantly correcting misconceptions and creating proper guides.
Things were starting to make sense: why he was sought out to teach at Hogwarts when he was only a few years out of it himself, why the only class available to teach was Ancient Runes. The Myhre family was rumored to have never lost the art of runes, and while that was indeed true, Sindre wasn't about to spill family secrets to a gaggle of teenagers.
More Potter? No problem.simplyanoobJuly 20 2012, 00:34:22 UTC
Ludwig slowly picked up his books, frowning as he did so. He just couldn't get the hang of runes, no matter how much he studied them. He looked up at Professor Myhre, who was still sitting at his desk.
"Professor Myhre...?" Ludwig asked as he approached the young man.
Looking up, Sindre found himself relieved when he saw which student it was. Ludwig Beilschmidt may not have the highest marks in his class, but he was one of the better students. He wouldn't whine over lost marks or try to use family connections to sway their progress in the class, unlike certain other students.
He nodded at the young man. "Beilschmidt. How may I help you?"

"Going to miss having that advantage."

This place gave him far too much of a headache.
