14! Am I supposed to play the captor, the captured, or the white knight? O.o ketchupkaper July 19 2012, 02:59:02 UTC
Eh, for the hell of it, let's have some genderbend talks_to_nisse July 19 2012, 06:04:02 UTC
Siri groaned as she fought her way back to consciousness. Her mind felt fogged, hazy, and she could barely twitch her fingers.

Drugs, then. Nothing she could do until they wore off.

She groaned again as she considered her predicament. It was all so stupid. How could she have been drugged? There were safeguards upon safeguards for that. And she didn't know what her captors hoped to obtain. Though she was unblindfolded, what little she could see of her room told her nothing.

Biting back a curse, she tried to will her muscles back to work. Whoever had taken her would quickly find out they failed to capture a proper little princess.

It only took the kitchen boy a few moments to notice the beautiful princess from the north disappear from the ball. He had only been glancing at her the whole night, for she was the prettiest thing he'd seen walk through the front doors that entire night. Though he was fairly certain she did not even know he existed.

Curiously, he stuck a head out of one of the more inconspicuous exits in the ballroom and sure enough - tracks! Hoofprints from the horse of a stranger who appeared to be far too eager to leave.

After many attempts to win the trust of one of the palace horses in the nearby stables, he eventually settled on the kindly yet homely mule and sped off in search of this stranger in hopes of finding Siri.

It wasn't before long he found a small cottage in the middle of the forest, one that was very strategically placed upon a cliffside, surrounded by sharp rocks. "Well friend," He said, patting the old mule as he dismounted. "This must be it. Thanks for the lift."

With a gulp, Marcello began his climb.

Marcello was a little too excited to have mastered the art of hacking someone's dreams and he could not wait to test it out. With a grin on his face, he coaxed himself into dream-state once the apparatus was set. He wasn't sure who's dream he would enter, but it would most likely be someone nearby.

And that someone happened to be a dear friend, who despite his kindness, did have a tendency to live in a very guarded manner. Maybe this would help the Seborgan to understand him a little bit better...

6. Enter Iceman~~ talks_to_nisse July 19 2012, 03:21:25 UTC
Sneaking out of the dorm, Sindre slipped out to the nearby pond. A place for gifted youngsters this might be, but there seemed to be so many rules about actually using them.

So he took to finding his own practice.

Once at the pond, Sindre raised his hand out over the pond. Frost slowly crept over the edges, before a single spear of ice shot up at him.

Smiling, he set about twisting and freezing the pond water into various shapes, stretching himself on size and complexity.

So absorbed in using his powers, Sindre didn't seem to notice Kiku's presence as he stood behind him. He watched the glittering shapes twirl around with some interest. It was a very pretty sort of gift, in this moonlight.

"Couldn't sleep?"

Kiku closed the instruction manual with an audible WHUMP. He'd finished reading cover to cover and was finally ready to activate the robot prototype he had been lucky enough to get his hands on. Right place, right time, and a lucky hand in a drawing had won him a chance to be one of the first to try out the newest model of anthropomorphic PC.

Clearing his throat, he called out the activation code. "Activate, passcode 1029348123. Calibrate voice commands to Kiku Honda." The noises of diagnostic began. He waited in anticipation for the robot to fully activate.

5. Hope you don't mind if Sindre is the alien~ talks_to_nisse July 19 2012, 03:42:46 UTC
It was standard protocol that, when an inhabited planet was discovered, to send only one delegate down. One delegate wasn't a threat, an invasion. One delegate ensured that he or she would have to be listened to. One delegate ensured that should the life-forms turn violent, loss of life was minimal.

Not that they were completely foolish. Sindre may be the only one descending to the surface of the planet, but there were plenty of ships still in orbit, able to strike at any moment.

Sindre ran through what he knew of these lifeforms. They had gathered a sense of the main language from satellite relays. Bipedal, like his own species. Bigendered. Likely the only Higher Intelligence Life Form on the planet, which they referred to as "Earth".

His ship settled with a thump. Time to meet the aliens.

He closed the last file, marking that off the to do list. The gears in his arms made a slight whirling sound as his arms came up above his head in a stretch he didn't actually need to do but had picked up from his former charge.

Humans liked it when their human shaped AI's acted human as well, so he'd been programed with learning programs to help him imitate.

Standing, he left the office and headed downstairs to check on his current charge. It was almost lunch time, so it was possible the boy was hungry and would want lunch.

Kiku adjusted his Ravenclaw scarf, as was one of his nervous habits when he was being faced with a new situation. Even sitting in the comforting familiarity of the library, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of nerves as he waited on the person who he was supposed to be tutoring in charms today.

Ludwig hurried to the library, practically tripping over his robes as he ran down the hall. He checked his watch again and again, watching in despair as the second hand continued to tick away, making him dangerously close to running late.

Perhaps he should have set the appointment a little later, so he didn't have to rush from his Astronomy class...

Ludwig practically tripped through the library doorway, earning him a stern glare from Madam Pince, before making his way to the designated meeting spot.

Exactly three minutes to the appointed meeting time, he caught sight of the blonde that fit the description of his assignment-to-be. Large build, serious face, fair features.

Kiku laid his hands on the table, prepared for business.

"I appreciate your punctuality. Mr Beilschmidt, I presume?" Each syllable was carefully enunciated. Politely, he extended a hand in a gesture of camaraderie.

Sindre shook himself as he emerged from the water. Finally the stink of human was off of him. With their towns encroaching every closer, avoidance was impossible, but that didn't mean he enjoyed it.

Returning to shore, Sindre carefully removed his fiddle from its waterproof case. He was determined to enjoy the night. And so he set the instrument against his chin and began to play.

His ears perk up at the sound, the paint brush stilling in his hand. It sounded like a violin, but what was someone doing with one way out here.

His inattentive fingers nearly dropped the brush held in them, and he admitted that they may be doing exactly what he was. Looking for someplace to create and practice that wasn't the four walls of a home.

He knew he should let them go on, enjoy the music while he paints, but there's something compelling about it. Something that has him packing his covering his work and heading off in the direction the sound is coming from.

As his pace increased, Sindre slipped back into the cool water. He was careful with his fiddle, yes, but here, in his hands, in his place of power, no water would dare damage the instrument. And it was here, small waves lapping at his sides, his bow flying, that he felt at ease.

Here, he was at home.

A stick cracked in the wood behind him, but the only indication of noticing it Sindre gave was the slightest pause in his playing. He was not about to have this night ruined for him.

"You are intruding," he called out, not stopping his music.
