Have a 10! HP Universe sound good to you?mystiklsushiJuly 19 2012, 03:44:00 UTC
Kiku adjusted his Ravenclaw scarf, as was one of his nervous habits when he was being faced with a new situation. Even sitting in the comforting familiarity of the library, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of nerves as he waited on the person who he was supposed to be tutoring in charms today.
Sounds fine to me.simplyanoobJuly 19 2012, 21:37:25 UTC
Ludwig hurried to the library, practically tripping over his robes as he ran down the hall. He checked his watch again and again, watching in despair as the second hand continued to tick away, making him dangerously close to running late.
Perhaps he should have set the appointment a little later, so he didn't have to rush from his Astronomy class...
Ludwig practically tripped through the library doorway, earning him a stern glare from Madam Pince, before making his way to the designated meeting spot.

Exactly three minutes to the appointed meeting time, he caught sight of the blonde that fit the description of his assignment-to-be. Large build, serious face, fair features.
Kiku laid his hands on the table, prepared for business.
"I appreciate your punctuality. Mr Beilschmidt, I presume?" Each syllable was carefully enunciated. Politely, he extended a hand in a gesture of camaraderie.
Ludwig gave a quick nod and pulled out his Charms textbook and his glasses. This Kiku Honda seemed like a no-nonsense sort of tutor. He respected that.
Ludwig looked across the pitch to the new Hufflepuff captain, Willem Van Peeters. He gripped his broom handle tighter in anticipation.
This Keeper was well worth his new title. Even though Ludwig was known to be a pretty good Chaser, he had yet to score more than a handful of points against him.
"At the count of three... I shall release the balls," the referee shouted, "One... two..."
At the sound of the whistle he tensed, watching the balls as they came into play. He tried to watch everywhere at once, yelling corrections and instructions to his team. Which is why when the other team sent the ball flying his direction, it was only by luck that he managed to get there in time. Cursing, he tossed the ball back into play, reminding himself to let his team do their job while he did his.

Ludwig quickly dodged a Bludger that flew far too close for comfort, and then began scanning the pitch for the opposing team's Chasers. He caught sight of them flying quickly down the field, passing the Quaffle between themselves often to keep the ball in their possession.
However, as they neared the goal, they began making exaggerated throws to one another, teasing the other players who couldn't catch them, before they decided to toss it into one of the hoops.
It was on one of these passes that Ludwig dropped on top of the ball, taking possession of the Quaffle right before it landed into the hands of an opposing Chaser. Ludwig immediately powered down the field to the opposing goal, narrowly avoiding another Bludger.
However, as he neared the opposing goalpost, he threw the ball too soon in his haste to get the ball into one of the hoops.
He sucked in a breath as he watched the other player steal the Quaffle right out from under his teammate's noses. He'd played against Beilschmidt before in other games, and was well aware of the man's skill.
It was players like him the Hufflepuff team players were going to have to work hard enough to beat if they wanted to have a chance at the cup this year,
He plucked the ball out of the air as it came for him again, tossing it back into play before yelling good steal in the blonde's direction.

[OOC: Sorry for forgetting a house, there. I'm going Ravenclaw for this thread.]
Ludwig looked up. Did the Hufflepuff captain just compliment him? Then again, it was just a practice game and their houses got along quite well... it wasn't unheard of for such a thing to happen...
"Thanks," he shouted back, then turned to the field just in time to see a young Hufflepuff Chaser toss the Quaffle through one of the rings.
Ludwig inwardly groaned and made his way back down the pitch.
He smirked in triumph as the ball went through the hoop, calling out praise and encouragement to his chasers.
The game continued, each team scoring and missing. Willem continued to shout encouragement to his players, scold them when they were wrong. They were coming together nicely, and he was proud of all of them.

The Hufflepuff team was definitely one to beat this year, Ludwig could tell that. The Chasers were giving the Ravenclaw Keeper a real workout... and the Beaters were ruthless...
Suddenly, something red flashed before his eyes, it took him a second to realize that the Hufflepuff players were having a little fun again.
Taking their bait, Ludwig charged after them, trying to get in range to snatch the Quaffle from their hands at the soonest possible chance.
Willem made an aggravated sound as the ball was stolen from his chasers yet again. He cursed in German, because really there was no better language to express displeasure in, and the yelled across the pitch to his misbehaving teammates.

Kiku gestured for the Gryffindor to sit down.
"I am to understand, however, that your observations in Charms are rather less astute. Shall we begin?"

This was just a scrimmage, but it was his first scrimmage as captain. And he was determined not to let his team down.
Hearing the signal whistle, he mounted his broom and kicked off towards the goal post.
