I was pretty impressed with Hungary back in '86/'87 before the Wall came down. It had more economic vitality than Czechoslovakia and the street cars ran faster than those in Vienna. Some of the finest Chinese food I have ever eaten was at a restaurant in downtown Pest. There was one village we drove through on the way to the capital where a number of people rode around on bicycles wearing full length fur coats. I have confidence that Hungarians will pull through troubled times.
