he noticed a large speck of dust on the Dean side of the photo, and he spent a good 30 seconds trying to pick it off for me. It was almost compulsive (how adorably OCD of him!), and I laughed. I was so charmed. He hurriedly explained that he was always doing that to Jensen, picking twigs off of him and stuff.

First, OMG!! Second, you're lucky to be alive. I stood there for three seconds while he finished saying something to me and was nearly trampled to death. ;)

Ha! Maybe it really wasn't 30 seconds. It just seemed that long because I could feel the pressure of all of the people behind me willing me to move the hell along. :D

Sorry I didn't get to see you there--I was running around like a mad thing on Sunday.

It was so great to see you again. Cons are a weird and wonderful thing. I'm still hoping for the BIG Smallville one to materialize one day. You will definitely have to come to that one. I'll pick you up even. :)

It was utter JOY to see you again. Thanks so much for the ride and the fun times and tell Sue "hi" from me next time you talk to her.

And, yes, if a big Smallville con comes along, then I will compromise my not-very-strong principles. ;)

Awww, he really cares about that boy. That’s great that they’re such good friends.

I was particularly appalled at the Jared and Jensen question-and-answer when one of the fans mentioned fanfiction and asked if Jared or Jensen had ever seen any.

My chest is seizing reading about the nutty nutbars at Con. Damn…why are people crazy? It’s the reason I hate Q&As. There are really good insightful questions from people, but then you get the loons and the rude people and it destroys all the good cheer.

It appears to be quite genuine, and mutual. :)

Yes, absolutely! I wish the session had been a little better moderated. That crazy lady should never have been allowed to hug Jared.

Your second paragraph makes me cringe SO HARD. Yeah, that's why I can't really picture myself ever attending a convention where such question/answer type sessions take place with the actors. The moment a fan started gushing or bringing up fanfiction, slash, or heaven forbid, wincest in this case, I'd want to crawl under my seat and never resurface. ;)

On a smaller scale, I'm not much for the vague sense of fannish entitlement or familiarity that seems to go hand in hand with these types of meet and greet sessions either. It's not a tone that embarrasses me per se, but it does make me quite uncomfortable all the same.

I literally had to cover my face when she brought up the fanfic. Why so crazy? Why????

Yeah, I'm the same. I like to keep a certain emotional distance from the actors; otherwise, it ruins my suspension of disbelief. For instance, I don't know if I could ever feel comfortable reading J2 fic now that I've actually seen the guys up close and personal.
