It's easy because the show I'm choosing is very definitely my favorite show. But it's hard because I have several shows that could answer this question. Bottom line, though, I'm going to say The West Wing.
It had an awesome cast of wonderful actors, simply amazing writing, kickass female characters, kickass characters in general really, drama, comedy, intelligence, and it held together really well. It ended before it ran itself into the ground and therefore ended on a good note in a logical place to end. It had a few setbacks, but what show doesn't? I really like all of Aaron Sorkin's work. He's really dialogue heavy, which I'm a fan of, and this show is no exception.
But not only that, it pretty much motivated me to get politically aware and involved. It helped me pass my AP US History test with an awesome score. It's fun and entertaining enough that it can be watched casually, but smart and factual enough that many episodes can be used in a class curriculum (especially high school government and US history classes). I would not have the appreciation for the complexity of US politics and foreign relations that I have if it weren't for this show. US politics came be nasty but they can be amazing, and this show took both of those aspects and displayed it well.
I just really love this show!
