I'm going to go with Supernatural on this one. It's got one of the most active and, er, shall we say dedicated? fandoms I've ever come across. But it falls into that trap that I think a lot of genre shows fall into: the idea that they're just not good enough for the mainstream. They're passed over by a general audience and by awards shows (except for X-Files, that didn't get passed over, but it's pretty much the only one). So I feel sorry for the show in that regard. It's got a huge presence online but when it comes to physical viewer numbers that make a show competitive, that online presence is lost. And while some viewers might get scared away by the fandom, bottom line is that the show is a good, solid show. It's got a good plot, great acting, solid characters, great visuals, and all the drama and comedy of good writing. It's a pity that the fact that it's a in the paranormal category makes it easy to pass over in favor of more mainstream shows like all the crime dramas airing on Network TV.
