He wanted to be sure.
He couldn’t do that to any of them, but especially Dean or Jo. They didn’t deserve to have him say he was done and have it be like the previous time with Ruby. That was cruel and unusual punishment of the worst kind, and he needed to be sure that he was done. And considering he didn’t reach this point the last time around

Drying off while Sam watched her didn't bother her too much, there might've been a slight flush to her cheeks, but she didn't actually mind. However she hadn't expected to take a shower when she walked into the bathroom, so her clothing was still in the bedroom. Holding the towel in place across her chest she smirked, "I didn't expect to shower. My clothing isn't in here, I thought something had happened to you."
Leaning over toward him she leaned down kissing him, "I'm glad that it was this and not something else."

The bathroom was a short walk from their bedroom, and she actually liked the chill of the air outside the steamy bathroom on her skin. Moving through the hall she made it to the bedroom and moved toward the dresser where some of her clothing was kept. It had been instinct as of late to just wear one of his shirts, which was why she had done laundry recently. Now though she tugged a tank top on, along with underwear before picking her jeans from the pile she'd brought in from the bathroom.
Once she was dressed she hung the towel on the hook on the back of the door, and made a beeline for Sam. Wrapping her arms around him she just held onto him, her damp hair pressing to his shirt, as she just stood there leaning against him.

Without pulling back, or away from him at all, she rested her cheek to his chest, "Are you hungry?"

Moving over she shifted onto her side, watching Sam as she got settled onto her side of the bed, "I can't believe I was up and showered before six. It's a good thing we're going back to bed, because I haven't been up this early in a long time."

The truth was that she had no clue really what they were going to do now. Things had sort of slipped out of their hands, and it wasn't like they could just ignore what had happened. He was out there somewhere, and if the demon activity being quiet was any sign, it wasn't a good one.
Though rather than focus on that, Jo focused on the way she fit next to Sam, on the way she felt with his arm around her. It was comforting and it was something she had for herself at the moment.
Inhaling deep, and exhaling slowly she leaned up and kissed Sam softly, biting her bottom lip a bit as she pulled back, "Don't scare me like that again, because it's really unfair that I can't kick your ass when you get like that."

He couldn't promise. Because he didn't know if he was strong enough, but he wanted to be better for her if for no one else. She didn't deserve to have to go through that with him again, especially after all of the things he'd seen.
"Thank you for not leaving," he murmured softly.

"I'm not going anywhere Sam, they had to carry me out of here to take me to the bar because I wasn't going to leave you," she smirked a bit at that, mostly able to laugh a bit more about it than she had that night, or the following morning.
"You're stuck with me Sam."

"I wouldn't have it any other way. Trust me."
