Ellen had called. It wasn't that she minded hearing from her mom, in fact most times she couldn't admit it to herself, but she missed her. The phone call wasn't unwanted, but the content - the reason itself for the call, that she could've done without.

[Check Castiel out, he's kidnapped Ruby, again, and has taken her away to Cipo - which is in Brazil. She hadn't been happy with the drop in temperature in Los Angeles, and was not a tree decorating demon, apparently, so Castiel tried to do what he could to assist her. He also didn't mind spending more time with her.]

There was a weird round couch in the middle of the lobby at the hotel. To Ruby it seemed like the exact opposite of what a circle should do -- bring people together. All the weird round couch did was make it so it would be impossible to look someone in the eye whilst sitting on the couch unless you curled up on it. He couldn’t do that to any of them, but especially Dean or Jo. They didn’t deserve to have him say he was done and have it be like the previous time with Ruby.
