Mostly Fondly

"Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of a bunch of 18 year olds trekking across the globe to teach English and dance on bars for 9 months."So said the invitation to the much-anticipated ten-year Hong Kong reunion which was held on Saturday. I'm not sure a single sentence could ever sum up that 19th year of my life quite as accurately and succinctly ( Read more... )

Glad to hear you had a good time (and that you survived your 19th year ;)) hon!

Also, happy early birthday! I hope it's a wonderful day!

It was a close thing, but I pulled through in the end. Though I still don't think my liver has forgiven me.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Suffice it to say, I won't be drinking too much, although I have already recieved a bottle of sake and a lot of beer as presents. Oops.

It was a speshul time in my life. I am very glad things are a lot less insane now. I really don't think I could ever repeat that lifestyle.

You were only 19?! I can't believe they let you into HK in the first place. XD

You ought to write up some of these "stories" for our amusement education.

Also, on a research-related note, how many cans of beer would it take you to get drunk? Like, how many to start acting out-of-character, then how many to enter Hangover Land?
I'm getting a half-British character drunk on Yebisu beer in my story, and I figure you are the best person to ask about magical British metabolism (esp. since said character is around your age).

Oh, Son. I went to Venezuela with a friend when I was 17. Hong Kong wasnt that much of a greater stretch. Except for the whole being away for a year thing. I'm surprised I've never shared any of my colourful tales with you. I think your father knows a lot of them, although I was reminded of several more at the weekend. Not sure if that was actually a good thing ( ... )

I went to Nicaragua when I was 13 (or 12?) but it was a church trip, so totally not similar. XD Hmm, you didn't want to corrupt me anymore? LOL.

Clearly, you were gifted with the beer for the purpose of my scientific research! I am pleased. Anyway, it's canon that Ogata likes to chug Yebisu. Ogata corrupts a middle school student and a ghost. In my story, I gave him a British mummy (because I love you very much, esp. your v. pretty eyes) so he's not a featherweight like your average Japanese. Granted, he's bigger and male, but I think he wouldn't be able to handle much more than you 'cause he says he doesn't get drunk that often. You've got more skillz.

Also I love your Cas icon. Poor baby just wanted to spend his evening sitting quietly, contemplating the end of his existence, but Dean dragged him to a Den of Iniquity and the hooker yelled at him. Poor little angel.

It was interesting alright. A little bit like instant-regression. Thankfully I am now back in the land of not being that young again. My poor liver...

He prayed for our sins and his parents called me spawn of the devil.

Dear god. That beats the guy who tried to faith heal my headaches by a mile.

Happy early birthday!

I think trying to faith heal headaches is pretty impressive too. At least no one's ever tried that on me. I might die laughing or something.

And thank you; it's not early anymore in any case!

p.s. I really love that icon...

But I thought you were the spawn of the devil? ;) Talking of faith healing... my sister wanted to phone me up during one of her crazy church services during the amazing "outpouring" (lots of people being "healed") a while back, as apparently some people were getting healed through their mobiles.
