Last night, after several weeks of her giving me consistent subliminal floggings, the Boss-Lady switched to hysterical hollering and childish mardies after I dared defend myself and point out that the work she was damning was hers, not mine (twenty-six word headlines, with exclamation marks. I ask you). Don't know what she expected, but she looked ( Read more... )

So can you help translate what she might have meant by high sounding? Tall? Doped? Caned?

She brought it up again during her shriek fit -- going on about "all those boombastic senten".

Never mind it's *her* who sinks headlines with adjectives and nouns galore so that the product is completely described (in no less than 15 words), it's the "Boombastic" that's thrown me.

Do you think she means it as in: "You wan romantic fantastic boombastic say me fantastic Mista Luvva Luvva" thing (approx) by Shaggy (?)? Maybe she heard the word at a tea dance when it was hip.

Oh my. An appearance. By the way, have you tried the one personally air-flown from Aust. and hand delivered to you? It's full of raspberries and pistachios and is much nicer and sweeter than the online version. Eat it before it eats you.

yes, i was going to ask since i was reminded of it as a breakfast option this morning (to my shame, i saw kevin b up and off well before me; to his shame, i hollered over and performed a topless shaker dance by way of welcomebackhello and evidence that i was not yet work-ready )

i thought your special delivery really should be shared with the deliverer -- following by example after i herd heard you share your cargo deliveries with the carriers of brown-paper black & white cow bags.

perhaps this explains my innate appreciation of certain types of cowboy shirt. one day i will tell my favourite tale relating to cows, and brown paper bags, the wild west, eno, the beano and dandy.

I already partook of many samples--but would not be averse to more. Especially after reading this. The other half of that piece was delivered along with Vonnegut, Chabon et al., in retrospect a much more suitable gift than something that might contain bananas, or plants, as the recipient later professed a dislike of the former and a mysterious inability to keep the latter alive. Looking forward to the story.
