Sarah Pomeroy's book is great! As you probably know, she was one of the first scholars to take women in antiquity seriously as a topic of research, and that's her best known book. There's been tons of work on women and gender in antiquity since then, but it's an absolute classic of the field.

Seeing as the book literally fell apart when I opened it... if I hadn't already known of it I probably would've guessed its legendary status. XD I'm really looking forward to reading it as soon as I've finished the books currently on my nightside table.

I loved Wicked. I also got to see the musical once, which was awesome. :)

I saw the musical when I was in London earlier this year and really enjoyed it, so I knew I was going to have to read the book sooner or later. I was actually looking for Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness, but they didn't have it. So I nabbed the next enticing thing I could find.

That is how I ended up reading Enders Game recently. Though usually I just use the request system in the library and wait for what I want rather than going with what they have. I have enough free kindle books that I don' necessarily need to have something out of the library all the time.

Tbh I always have too many unread books at home to borrow new ones, but I find it relaxing to go to the library and browse. Of course, once I've borrowed three more books than I'd planned I inevitably panic, but what's life without a little excitement?
