If you were not in your current employment, what (without going into the realms of wish fulfilment) other jobs could (or would) you do?

Dear lazyweb,

I'm looking for a digital equivalent of pins in a map.

Is there a quick, easy and free way of mapping a set of points by postcode onto a local maps using Google maps (or similar websites)?

A decent level of security/confidentiality would be a pre-requisite, as one potential use would be mapping outbreaks/incident spreads.

At work we get some strange things through the post, including emergency medical supplies catalogues. I should dig out the details of the one which had all the plastic food [1] ...

Some are quite ... disturbing ... bag of babies for example ... I'm sure there's lots of gubbins in there that may interest quercus, mzpurplekitten and a few others ( Read more... )

Ach well, Soma FM is on and the phones are quiet (so far) today, last thing we want is an incident of 'Casualty Christmas Special' levels.

Anyone available to help transport a fridge from my offices to Kebele tomorrow? Probably best to ring me on the mobile, although I may be able to pick up email/LJ at Helen and Andy's tonight.

The return to work isn't nice after a break. We're moving office next week and there's still so much to be done. I'm going to be responsible for dealing with case and call management when we're in more or less an IT blackout, but it'll all be over in a week or two's time ( Read more... )

Oh forgot to mention a nice thing.

I was given a CD yesterday by The Welcome Committee - the band that Jamie (from work) is in. Full of quite lovely whimsical acoustic stuff. Yon lad has a fine turn of phrase.

Friday pieday. Mushroom and asparagus. Mash still good, now proper mushy peas (rather than the effette pea puree) and the gravy is back up to speed. Now clocking in at £6.50, which is still decent for a Friday treat. Borrowed Helen's Hendersons to tide me over.
