Well I haven't been dipping my toes around very much lately, as I've been pretty much solely plowing through katieforsythe's massive, gorgeous fics, as well as reading the canon. T__T But hmmmm. Other recentish reads are Homo Ex Machina and Service by toft_froggy. Perhaps you've read these already though, idk~ Both of these authors write from the lit canon rather than the movie canon, but UNFFFFFF they're so, so great. :)

Ooh, fic recs!

I don't know if you're only reading fic based on the new film, but if you have time to sit down for some long, bittersweet, canon-based stories, Katie Forsythe is one of the best Holmes/Watson writers the fandom has to offer. Seriously, if you haven't read her work and you don't mind leaving behind RDJ's Holmes for awhile, you absolutely must. She does a lot of alternate versions of canon stories, including a beautiful mash-up of "Empty House" and "Norwood Builder" wherein Watson doesn't just instantly forgive Holmes for pretending to be dead for three years and it's very aching before they fix it. Her stuff is just gorgeous. I can't recommend it enough.

No, I'm open to everything! I'm still reading the book canon, so I can't pretend that I'll appreciate canon-based fics to the fullest extent, but it is absolutely my intention to read all of canon, and then read and write fic based on it. You are the second person to rec katieforsythe's fics, so I will definitely have to read them. They sound wonderful and exactly like the kind of fic I love to read.

Yay! I'm glad! :D

But, yes, her fics are breathtaking. I love the music words make and some of her sentences are like arias.

OMG, have you seen the movie? Or are you a fan of the books? WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY.

Only the movie, sorry. IS THIS IMMEDIATE ENOUGH FOR YOU?
